Does a death limit require Tourney Mode?

Will the game keep out a player with that has hit the death limit under those conditions? If it is off, then the death limit shouldn't apply. Unless you mean the days to enter is set to 0 which will mean that after the 1st day no one will be able to get in the game. It will be more or less a closed game.
