Anyone notice that if you post like 2 or 3 msgs in a short span you get called a spammer? Well... interesting buglet, my message is still getting posted despite the "No spamming allowed!" warning.
So... afew ideas.
1: Raise that limit a little, plz?
2: Might want to fix the bug, it's wierd.

if ($poster = "Singularity") or ($timePost <= $minutesAllowed)

I can understand the anti-spam settings though as that is the biggest pain on the Internet.

Laff...
Well sure, having spam settings is important... but forum spammers these days are very sophisticated. They often use botnets, multiple IPs and multiple accounts, to post a bunch of URLs to a page in hopes that it'll boost their search ranking.
A simple "you can post 1 message every 5 minutes" is not a deterrent to spammers since the mandatory wait can be easily automated in code, it's simply a deterrent to system flooders. I doubt flooding is an emormous problem here, and the message allowance can be upped substantially and still provide effective protection against flooding.
Fighting spam is very difficult. Mandatory registration for posts, required email confirmation, visual captchas, all do quite a bit... but even they aren't entirely effective. Wordpress, a common blogging script, has link filters... if you post more than say, 3 links per message, it goes into a moderation queue instead of straight to post. There are also bayesian word tools that can be applied to these messages to catch even more forum spam.
Perhaps the greatest injury to spam here is that links are no longer automatically tagged, requiring BB code. That requires forum spammers to write a software profile specifically for this forum package, a process which is probably not cost effective.
Throw in an active moderation staff and the problem becomes quite manageable.
My point is: A "1 post per minute" rule is really not effective against spammers, it's more of an annoyance to people that post a lot... and even then, while only trivial annoyance, it's even less effective if the system is broken and continues to allow posting regardless.
Decreasing the intra-post time a little bit, applying smarter filters and fixing the system... would be the way to go if you're really trying to fight spam. The goal of spam fighting isn't to make life difficult, it's to make the problem as invisible as possible... so everything else can continue uneffected.
