I am just curious who has the ability to view our IP addresses that are recorded. Is it just the admins or admins and mods?

I would hope it's the Admins only. Mods should not have access to that info.

With most bb software I've used it's normally visible to both, and it's positioned somewhere around/under the avatar and rank along with the rest of those stats.

The mods can see the IPs only for the topics they're mods for.

Just out of curiosity on the IPs. Since they are dynamic - for the most part, some are static - it really isn't a major issue. I know grabbing an IP is easy to do, and just as easy for a user to bypass using their own IP.
I can use my IP or one of the unsecured APs that are within range and show a different IP. That is one of the weakness of using IPs to ban a user.

You want to worry about privacy or something? Try the Patriot Act. Somehow I dont think there is anything to worry about here.

lol, not really. As I stated, just curious about the IP display. The bypassing of IP banning is easily done, but I was thinking as much for a TWGS ban as this site when I said about the weakness - didn't seperate the thought though.

Well, just to clarify: If you are a mod in an area, you see the IP address of every user who post's there.
Admin's see IP's everywhere.
