I just got back into BBSing and I'm looking for version 3.4, 3.5 of Yankee Trader (there may possibly be a bug in 3.6 so I want to downgrade).  Can put up 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.6 if anyone needs.  Hopefully I won't get too much flames for asking about this!

Well, my searching only found what I assume is version 3.6, although I did find a nice site that holds text writings for many different games, is pretty kewl.

The search timeframe is 8/1992 (v3.3) to 2/1994 (v3.6). I'm browsing through old shareware ROMS.

And I thought it was "An area with more relaxed rules in terms of OT posts and debate."

Yankee Trader and Trade Wars share some history.  According to this, Alan Davenport, the author of Yankee Trader co-authored the TW1000 version of Trade Wars with Chris Sherrick before he branched off and created Yankee Trader.

Very true on the history and the history of the games is something I find interesting. I wish you luck in finding the version you are looking for. I found 3.2 and 3.6, but that was it.

And now the song "Space Cowboy" by Steve Miller is stuck in my head.

No guarantees, but I will begin my search into my BBS archive. I know I've seen it, played it. Just not sure if I kept it. I enjoyed it though.

I just checked my BBS Door game files and my version of Yankee Trader is 3.0, and 3.6. I do not have v3.4 or 3.5. sorry about that.

I came across another one too. Outpost Trader. That's what started me out before I went to Yankee Trader, then to TradeWars.

Just another piece of history brought to you by Thrawn.

Sad part is I threw out all my old 5 1/4" BBS disks a few months ago.  Who knew I'd run across SynchroNET 3 months later!
