I have to agree, I liked the old Eis forums more. This forum is cluttered with tables, there are too many tables along the left side of the page especially. It would have been nice if JP would have just transferred the same forum over to http://www.classictw.com instead of making a whole new forum; but oh well. We whine, then we get over it. It's time for me to get over it. |

I'm inclined to agree. This new forum design blows chunks. WTF were they thinking? What was wrong with the old design? Inquiring minds... =P |

Actually this is more than a forum, it is a whole web portal, with other functions as well, some aren't fully active yet, while others are. That is why you see the modules on the sides not all of the modules are forum related, but have other functions, like the uploads and downloade areas. The jumpgate area and search. the guestbook, and site submissions and links submissions and so forth. |

True..it reminds me of a typical phpnuke site. All of the above fuctions could've been implemented as a frontend portal, while still retaining the original EIS forum look and feel, without being force-fed modules ad naseum. Seems a tad bit overkill, but that's just my opinion. |

Actually is based on most asp.net portals, and is in asp.net. But understand the comment, agreed on some things too. But have to use the format given for the program, and it has the functions needed for the jumpgate engine to work, so in all it is a valuable asset, if you look at it like this, I just logon and check the jumpgate and know the games that are available, and all info for those games, and decide on what game I want to play, and of course Stardock's search engine will still work on the jumpgate servers as well. So then we will have 2 forms of making sure the games get out to all to see who want to play. And the servers that don't get the upgrade to Jumpgate will still have Stardock's service running to have them listed on games anyway too. |
