two thousand and eighty,
it's finally here,
if i wasn't at work,
i'd crack open a beer,
i've chased you so long,
you're now in my grasp,
harley you mofo,
i've caught you at last!

as i look at my count,
and think about the past,
all the fun times had,
man, what a blast.
i came in this game,
not knowing one plus one,
i hit up the cabal,
and started to have fun.

i've met some great people,
thoughout my years here,
some are responsible,
for my starting my career,
but first and foremost,
i must shout out some love,
for those gone and lost to us,
watching over from above,
you'll never be forgotten,
you'll always be missed,
your names permenantly etched,
into my memories list.

from the sad to happy,
in one quick move,
to those who helped me,
when i had no groove,
it started with FC,
what a wonderful man,
he told me about ZOC,
he gave me a plan,
the next one was Res,
the most hated of guys,
he told me of TWX,
he never told me lies,

i then met angus,
of the thermopyle kind,
he killed me so much,
i'd swear i was blind,
but being so nice,
he took me under his wing,
and let me corp up,
to see the other side of things.

the list could go on,
forever and a day,
of all the great people,
who have inspired my play,
but these were the few,
who were there at the start,
who helped this poor newb,
and made him so smart

now back to kemper,
you banned me thrice,
yet my posts are still hot,
while yours are all ice,
we both quit for wow,
and we'll never come back,
it was the right choice,
as the game got off track,

it's all about scripts,
and time at keys,
no longer is it skill,
and i say to you please,
kill the unlims and truces,
go back to the roots,
and find a designer,
who gives two hoots,

i've occasionally come,
and spit out some rhymes,
but never any,
nearly so sublime,
so i challenge you all,
to think of the past,
of all the fun,
and how to make it last,
enough with the tourneys,
and moderation too,
i've got the god given right,
if i want to say frell you!

i leave you all now,
saying not much at all,
just that i love tradewars,
and thanks, i had a ball

I miss his poems. That was one of the cool things about a tourney in the old days.

there once was a warrior named slim
who stopped playing tw as WoW called him
and in time wow grew old
and then slim grew quite bold
and he gridded till age overtook him.

Hows that for format? [:D]

Yes. Those wacky Canadians.
There's a reason their nation anthem is "O CanaDUH"
:)

Up north there mixed with frozen ice
live a people very nice
unless you take their beer away
and then there will be hell to pay
some of them still play tradewars
scripting while their wifey snores
their asses spreading to fill a bench
muttering curses in slurred french.

O, CanaDUH! My home and native land...

Darn straight sil! ;)
It's OK thanks to Tim Hortons, you'll catch up to us soon enough.
Grin. I hope you of all people don't take me too seriously on Canadian issues.
I love Canadians. They remind me of whiny jealous younger siblings who are too proud to beg and too dumb to steal.
