Having just finished playing Game M at the server UTW (player name (Tramp), given the constant contraversy around this server, I wanted to make a comment.

It was a good game, I enjoyed it. However, there were too often the announced server closings, usually with the 5 minute warnings. The closures were most often for game rebangs and seemed to be daily, although there were days when it was closed more than just the one time. This can be very annoying.

Also, given the my puter is POS, and my connect can be flaky, I sometimes have days when I drop a lot. At UTW, I had many more than the usual random disconnects not related to my isp at all. No idea why this would be.

No truce, no sysop interferrence except to ban a player who constantly called Maggie the c*** word, made dupe accusations against LT, Maggie and I, and racial slurs (he used the n-word to describe a black person).

Hi there Snow, the daily drops on utw seam to happen around 7 pm est
this is due yes to rebanging a game or 2, due to so many games with high turns one is concluded almost everyday.
This can get very frustrating, as to ur POS system, there is a code
that will open ur modum to its max capacity this may help with ur dissconnects problem. Unfortunatly i cant remember it as i post this.
Also sorry to read you had to deal with a bigot in your game, sadly the internet is a reflection of the real world so the undesireable elements will always slip in to ruin a good time when they can.

i have to disagree there zentock.. i think people can have a multiple personality just for the internet. someone who acts like me online can be the best person ever in RL

what i meant was.. people can be a whole new person online.. i am a decent person in RL, but act like a piece of **** online and im sure most people change online from real life. it's kind of like moving to a new school when you were a kid.. you could competely change and no one would know any better because they did not know you before.

Snow on further research i found the code for you.You will need to get into your control panel, modum additional properties. And in the extended commands box add this AT&F
this will open you modem to it max speed it max help if not its just as asy to undo.

You seem to be making the assumption that the problem is with my modem. If that was the case, I would have the same high rate of random drops with all servers. While I do have some difficulties on other servers, I was merely observing that playing on utw, I had many more random drops than I have ever had on any other server. This occurred whether or not I as actively playing or I was online and not atk.

Having no game to play atm, I have since slogged through some of the more recent posts here and I noted that sage has made some statements explaining his methods in determining what player may be tying up his server's resources ie causing server lag. While I made no effort to determine whether some of the drops may co-incide with the lag that the server suffers at time, I has occurred to me if *some* of the seemingly random drops may be sage dropping players to isolate the "culprit." Of course, as far as I know, there is really no way to verify this.
