This might be a little odd. I'm actually looking for someone who might have known a person who went by the name Tipan MANY years ago in TW (probably 1997-1998). She had a corporation called Noble House (which I see here on this board is a corporation again for TW somewhere). She said the names came from a book she liked. I can't remember what boards she played on.

Anyways, there was an accident and she is no longer with us, that much I know. I've always wondered how her husband/boyfriend and child have faired. When I did a Google search for Tipan and Trade Wars, it brought me here.

Does anyone know who I'm talking about? I don't want to stir anything up, I just have been thinking about her a lot for some reason lately and wondered if I really could find out how her family is doing.

Tipan used to play on a twgs called Evolution, and on a world group system that had a way to let players join games and not leave there home BBS'es, Tipans home BBS was Dazed&Confused this later became
Carolina Internet BBS.

Tipan was the founder and initial Ceo of Perma corp Noble House.

Tipan was also my wife, our two children she carried to term
rather then abort to save her own life (for this she is the bravest person i have ever known). She was struck by a car while riding her bike, was thrown and her head struck the curb and the complications cost her her life when she went into labor. The children live with there grandparents in Hawaii and have done very well.
I have since remarried and even though i have another wife i still mourn every day for the Lady i lost to a hit and run driver who has never been caught. I have kept Perma Corp Noble House alive as my memorial to Tipan, and it will be a fixture of tradewars till i die.
And Killian, Tipan passed away August 15th 1996 @ 0314
Truly a date i will never forget.
I thank you for remembering her, i hope that you knew her during happy times and have fond memories of her.

I am sorry i didnt inform you all of this yrs ago,
but i was not able to share this event as it was
to emotionial.
That and a specific player who i did share it with turned
around on me and used it against me, that was a painfull
experiance, one that almost ended my twars playing.
I am sure theres a few of you who remember the specific
event. If you cant guess it i will post the cap of it later.

I am sorry as well zentock that was very sad and sorry for anyone to have to go through that. I was almost speakless and not knowing what to say..

Oh thank you for letting me know how you all have been. You probably don't remember me, but we spoke very briefly a few times just before and just after she passed. I was in Noble House myself on one of the boards that she played on but I only knew her for about 6 months before her death. Yes, she was very brave and I do think about her often, though I only knew her through the games that we played and the things we would tell each other about our lives. I knew about the accident, the risks she faced, and her steely resolve to be sure that her children would have a good life even if it meant the loss of her own, and I have always been in awe of that decision.

Most of what I know about playing TW I learned from her (I had always played solo, she was actually the first person I ever, ever corped with). One of the few fellow female players i've had the joy of teaming with. We girls have to stick together! Killian was one of the names that I used, but I don't remember which one I was specifically using when Tipan and I played together.

I'm so glad that you responded, I have always wondered what happend to you and your children. I'm glad that you have found happiness again in your life and that the kids are okay.

I'm also glad you told her story again so more people had the chance to know a little bit about her too.
