Ah yeah, with the right TW Helper and the right scripts, anyone of any age can play Tradewars.

I am retired and I just came back to check out the forum, not sure if anyone remembers me or not.

I have been sick, had heart and knee surgery recently. I am recovering.

I did graduate from college with a 3.91 GPA and a Bachelors of Science in Business Management as well.

Maybe some day I can get well enough and have the time to join a game again? Maybe in 20 years when I do retire and collect social security retirement payments. I'll be playing a ANSI Text based game in a world of 4D graphics and psionic interfaces to your brain, and all of the noobs will say something like "Hey Gramps, why don't you join us in Worlds of Everquest In War 2025, that Tradewars game is almost as old as you are. 40 years ago, maybe it was something when 8 bit computers ruled, but now it isn't good enough." Then I'll answer "Why you young whippersnappers, I'll teach you a thing or two. Get four of your friends, download ATTAC 2025, and log into this TW server and I'll get four of my friends and we shall see who is better." It is a deathmatch game, and before you know it, my corp owns all of the planets and sectors and all five noobs are ship destroyed. Then I'll laugh with my friends and say "I wonder if this will hook them into playing TW now? We need some newblood in this game to keep it going for another 40 years."

I hope the Tradewars for Unix project will be finished. Windows is dying, and Windows Vista will require expensive and modern equipment to run. Then once Microsoft phases out support for all older Windows versions, the old machines would only be able to run Unix, because the malware makers will find new ways to crack the older Windows and MS won't be issuing fixes for them anymore. So either keep a box that can easily be exploited, buy a new system to run Vista, or reformat and install a Unix OS on the older PC.
