stupid question- how do you change the server addy from numerical to alphabetic...much thanks.

i dont recall the website... bone collector helped me when i did mine, its like http://www.dyndns.org or some crap like that, you just register, put in your IP, pick what you want your addy to be, and it routes it for ya.
you can try google or just wait, someone will have the correct addy (unless i randomly guessed correct, in which case go me)

I hate to admit it, but Slim is right. There should be 2 lvls of service, a free one with REAL limited options and a paid for option. Should all be listed under redirection link on their page.

Slim, you got it right, I had helped a few to get their addys through them too, it is a real run through to get to what you need but once setup and the pointing service is set and you have the program on your puter to update your dynamic IP, so that if it changes, the pointer service keeps the IP addy pointing to your puter. Check out http://www.dyndns.org they have both free pointing service and pay pointing.

Also there are other services out there, if you don't like this one, search google for dns pointing services.
