The player who can do either depending on what is best and what is needed in that particular game is the best player. In general, if a red is able to cash up and find the blue planets before they go mobile, that's the best way to go. If a blue is able to get their planets mobile, that is the way to go.

ROFL. yes, depends on the edits.

And you need a good combination of job skills to win.

I've always felt that there are jobs in tw, and some people are better at those jobs than others. I tried to break those jobs down on my site, but now, years later, i've come to understand that those jobs really aren't as color dependant as I had originally thought. I think for intermediate players, it's easier to break things down into blue vs red jobs. But as I've gotten better and better at this game, I'm becoming more convinced that getting hung up on reds cash, blues hunt, etc... is actually limiting you as a player. I think K3 can probably speak to this better than I can.

Now, personally, I think I'm an average gridder, an average grid defender (ok, i'm better at defense than offense) an average killer, and a poor on-line invader/defender. I've tried to become better at the offense/defense things, but it's just not in my nature. Killing just doesn't flip my switch. I'm happiest as a player when I make money. So that's the area I've specilized in. I'm probably one of the best red ATM's (I did re-write the book, heh) And I would say I'm good at everything else. I KNOW how to do every job out there, and I can explain it to people. I just am not always proficient at those jobs. I just try to corp with people who have the areas where i'm weak covered, and it usually works out.

So, I guess what I'm saying is: If you don't have the skills or mindset to do certain jobs, then the best corpie is someone who can fill your gaps. Know your skills, and play with people who compliment them.

The best player to have on your team other then what K3 and Traitor said is the one who shows up everyday to run there turns.

Low blow onm the edits thing, but I do agree, meh, its life. But in a classics game, meaning just stock, what is it you would use? Red or Blue?

This is the opinion of a sucky player.
If you can get in and get red and cash fast, it is red but for every day you take to find someones sector you give blue the advantage as they have planets upgradeing while you are looking.
All depends on how fast you can cash I guess and corp dinamics (I said a big word)

***y son of a gun aint he? *poke* j/k.....Well, my point was that in a corped out game, if you dont have both, your not gonna win, but i guess thats a Captian Obvious statement. My next question is, if you had a choice between a good blue or a good red (oxy moron), and say you were limited to a two man corp, who would you choose?

I would always go with blue, because they get to base-build and CAP and cash off of those reds that run into my MSL's (that was a joke, ROFL!) [:P]

In a stock game, building planets is a waste of time.

This proves my point, that TW still needs alot of work to truely make it playable.

I would hardly call a change to the stock edits a lot of work. Also, I base opinions on this in terms of playing against good players. I would imagine against someone like you, planets in a stock game would be fine.
