Yea, but if he is in copyright violation, not even a petition can help get it published. What are the details of the allegations on this? What is it exactly that he is in violation of? Is he going to retract the parts that are consitered to be infringing? |

Well considering that they own the rights to Chrono Trigger, an unlicensed book would be copyright infrigement and they'd be in their right to prevent it's publishing. Petitioning them isn't going to do much good. That's a bit crazy, if the book is really as good as you say why not get a license to use the material and create some kind of profit-sharing arrangement? It's not like they're trying to be bullies, they're just trying to protect the time and money they spent creating a strong name. |

The author did it butt backwards. You dont write a book about something that is copyrighted to the hilt without asking permission first. The petition might help get him a deal, but he would have saved himself alot of trouble in the first place by asking or working out a deal. On the other hamd, i think i recall Square-enix being involved in something like this b4, dealing with the famous "Kingdom Hearts" video game. So its no suprise that they are now guarding another copyrighted material..... |

Chrono Trigger? What is this super nes you speak of?Is it a another trade wars server perhaps....j/k..Square-enix the maker of Final fantasy....hmmmmm i may check it out , this Chrono trigger may prove to be entertaining. As for the book , i agree with the others on this , the author is doing it all wrong but a petition can't hurt. And Excon when did you have time to play another game besides tradewars?lol |

As would I, if I were a Square-Enix dude, but, all i want is the book, I dont care if they make a deal or not, duh its copywrited, but I am sure a settlement or a royalties deal is met. And the petition, in my opinion is meant for trying to gain support for a settlement to be reached, not sway or over rule Squares copywirte, it would be stupid to try it that way anyway, so i do agree with you all completely.
