Does the current version of tw2002 will still work with the old tw-extenders from the 90's?

Does anybody know how I could get them registered at that?

Is anybody else making extenders now for the game? ALso called IGM's...

Just curious, what are they? I logged in and played TW in the 90s and thought I knew all the versions, helpers and tip sheets that were around at the time. But I've never heard of an IGM nor extender.

This site has a large selection of utilities for the old style TW game.

These are extenders?

The BORG v1.4
The Crystalline Entity v1.4
Trade World
Wandering Planets v1.1

I remember those. They are what we now call edits. If that was what you were refering to, Orion Pax. double-click on "All Forums" in the cascade at the top of the page, and when there, scroll down tot "Trade Wars School" section. When there look for the thread on game edits. That will tell you where you can find and download a copy of the current "extenders" that we use nowdays. The thread will also tell you how to read them so you can make the best use of each type too. Most games on the boards listed it the "Game Rebangs" section are edited games and are on Vader's list of edited games. Those that are not are called "Stock" games. Most players see the Stock games as plain vanilla...kinda bland. (ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz)

Extenders are entirely different from edits, akor. Extenders were external programs that extended the features of the game. There are no extenders for the current game.

I wonder, are there no extenders because it can't be done or because no one wants to figure out how to make em work with this version?

Don't forget about Xen's project, hehe [;)]
Also Rogue Galaxy is making a awsome Ship Yard Mod.

Speaking of Xen, were has he been at lately? Did he get lost underneath his desk ROFL or something? [:O]

I had always heard that the current versions of trade wars are a lot more particular in regards to messing with their data files. Corruption happens much more easily.

I could see TWX scripting possibly being used to do some of the same things as some of the less complex extenders. Just log it into t-edit locally.

Wandering planet? Just have the script change a particular planets sector every 10 minutes or something.

A Crytalline Entity? Same sort of thing...and if it happens to be in a sector with a planet....the script could switch to t-edit and automatically strip half the planets resources or some crap.
