It seems comcast likes to be paid [V]. They turned off my internet for 12 hours or so to "teach me a lesson". The connection isn't mine, but I do pay part of the bill. After losing internet, we called and they said cause bill was past due. But I haven't paid them and the guys name it is under hasn't paid them, and they reconnected me. Go figure. Probably wasn't the problem in the 1st place. In any event I am paying the whole bill on thursday and hopefully they won't disconnect us again. PS I shut down server while not connected. And I wil now run extern. Bethel |

Comcast rules. I've got a 4Mbit connection that never drops. I pull down files at 500KB/s. That's 2 seconds per Megabyte. I'm not aware of a faster broadband provider in Comcast's price range, and couldn't be happier. +EP+ |

Shaw.bc.ca's Extreme-I cable package is really good; I get downloads upwards of 800-900kB/s depending on the source. OOo2 in about a minute. Uplink's well over 100kB/s too. Most of the time downloads just start fast and don't stop coming faster until they're finished. I think we're paying $50-60cdn/mo ($10 more because we don't have cable TV). Probably not many west coast Canadians in here, but there ya go.. DC. |

I agree that Comcast is very fast, I think Verizon has just come out with something as well. What I do not agree with is why they are allowed to charge their customers 40-50 plus dollars a month for something that has already been there for decades and has already paid for itself 10-times over, (this may be a slight exaggeration, though does have mostly truth in it.) I hate that these globalized companies are allowed to monopolize the customer base they are suppose to be there to serve by backing them helplessly and selfishly into a corner and then wittingly robbing them of their hard earned money. Meanwhile our government turns their cheek in-order to pucker up and give them a nice big wet one on their rear ends, and only for a little personal profit and maybe some falsified respect. As for us, we are left to either take it or leave it. [V] |

Is that a Canadian only service? Just wondering, I have never heard of it before. I pay $20 bucks a month for my Yahoo DSL basic, it is approximately 1.2Mbps on the download and 128Kbps on the upload. They also have a pro package that is about $36 a month (unless you by into their 40-45 dollar unlimited phone package, it would go down to about $29 a month) and this bumps your downloads up to 3Mbps and uploads to about 384Kbps. That T1 sounds awesome, I wonder how much it costs though; it would be worth it, if it was about what Comcast charges it's customers for their currently one sided service. |

Dang that is pricey, should have guessed it would be though, heh. Is the use of phone services included with that though, if it is unlimited for long distance, international, toll, 800-numbers, etc. then it would be worth it for a business to hook up with the T1 or T3. Do you by chance know how many simultaneous internet/phone connections can be made with T1/T3, (or do you have to pay for each addition separately?) |

Yes you did, thank you sir, and the moral to the story is: Stay very far away, because I really, really hate phone companies. Did I mention that I hate phone companies? LOL |
