You aware that the logger script hasn't been working since a little after 9AM?

They have always recovered and sometimes with better players due to the major games of this type. Hopefully the newer players are learning in that game and are not being assigned tasks without being told why they are important.

It fixed itself a couple of hours after I posted that. It updates every 5 minutes just like it says most of the time. It's actually pretty interesting to glance at now and then. I was surprised the universe's fig count didn't go above 10k for the first 23 hours or so of the game. Yes, I know it takes pumping money into pbusting to get the reds going the first day, but with teams this size I expected a faster ramp. It looks like only half of each team is very active, though, so it makes more sense thinking teams of 14.

I wish I'd gotten my stat reporting stuff done before CW's start. Are you keeping daily backups of the data files as a precautionary measure? If so I might still be able to write something to compile graphs based on day-to-day changes. All at the end of the game, of course. Hindsight is fun. [:)]

Ya, that would be very cool to be able to see how everything fluctuated from day to day. Hopefully you'll have it going by the next big game. I don't think I would want that data being published while the game is ongoing, but it would be neat to see it all once the game is over.

All I know is when I am done running my turns in TCW, I crave a new game to run in. Looks like I found me one over at your server eagle, good timing. Looks like River Rat and corp are there to challange a deranged corp. LMFAO. Eagle, your server will recover, and I think that if your pirates game continues to grow, you will see about 10 active nodes atleast.

Actually, I was think I would offer people a place to post caps and such from the game if you have a cap file you want to post save it and send it to me after the game is over and I’ll post it with the rest of the TCW site.

Xentropy, sounds like a good idea if you want get with RR and tell him what you need him to do I rather he not hand out any data files till the game is over though.

As much as i dislike timbowolf (I think that was his name) he did manage to put together a small recap each day of Big game events that was interesting for both players and spectators. I may embark on something along these lines for the next big game. Of course my opinions will be un-biased, unlike his.

No no, I wasn't asking for any of the data files yet. That would be a terrible breach of security. I wouldn't release any data, but there's no way for you guys to know that, so no, I wouldn't expect it.

All I was wondering is if you guys could set up daily backups of the data files to automatically go to different directories so that when the game is over, you'll have 30 or 40 or however many days the game lasts copies of the data, one for the end of each day. I could then have a program compile all the data into graphs and you'd have a nice recap at the end. All the data storage would stay on the server until the game is declared complete, no worries there. [:)]

So who do I need to contact to get backups like that set up, and how do I best contact them?
