Well, you have certainly found the right place for TW. The old "Door" Version of TW is long gone and replaced by our current version (?) which allows people to "Telenet" to a server a play! I would suggest you check out the following link;

http://www.tw-cabal.com/ (TradeWars strategy)
Also check out the Game Rebang section right here at EIS for news on new games banging.

P.S You will require a helper (Google any of the following; Zoc, TWX, ATTAC, SWATH) info will be at related sites.

P.S.S Welcome :)

Edit - Darn! Would you look at that! Another Canadian, I'll be damned. [:P]

I did some more checking and found a League site and noticed TW2002 is not dead ... Which i love...

Now i am thinking about Starting up a Tw2002 server, i own an ISP and have multi servers on a OC48 backbone... Not sure if the demand is there ... but if it is i would love to start a new game ... Just need to relearn how to do it ..

Well, Game Servers are always coming and going. Good servers are hard to come by. Good servers with good competition are even harder.

Well, As far as I'm concerned Zoc/TWX combo is the best. But I'm sure others would argue that.

They are both really helpers, but Zoc is the actually Telenet Program. TWX is a proxy and sits between Zoc and the server and records what it sees. TWX was created for Tradewars, Zoc wasn't

ZOC is a telnet emulator, with some options for macros, auto macros, and a few other options that make it on of the better choices to have.

TWX at http://www.twxproxy.com is a great helper, and the most diverse I have seen. The community support for the helper has been outrageous, and most scripts custom and included are for TWX.

I agree with Zoso, TWX and ZOC is the best combo for you.

I'm going to but in here and put a wrench in the ZOC users fest.

TWX proxy is a given you are going to want and use that helper no mater what terminal helper you chose.

Before you decide on ZOC at least give SWATH a go at it you can download it from this web site. http://swath.net/

Oh also, this site is a must read http://www.tw-cabal.com
Happy trading :)

I'll agree with Speed Demon. If you're trying to come back to the game I'd try Swath as its a true 'Helper' rather than a Telnet program. The latest version can do just about anything that Zoc can do now with macro's and auto replies but has many built in features and a visual map that once you use you'll not want to play without. But regardless of your final Swath / Zoc choice, you'll want to use TwxProxy for the widest selection of scripts.

Good luck

I'll be on the record as saying SWATH is a great helper, I know some of the best in the game that use it. The cost is a factor, ZOC is basically free, considering it doesnt have a lock down feature to make you register it. Just bugs you about it over and over.

If your looking for something worth your money, go with SWATH, if you are a broke little Canadian, like i'm a broke little American, try ZOC
