heh, some people are against it, they want the old school feel of the game, they want to play someone who has to be at keys while there trading. There's a market for games like these and some servers don't like scripting. I enjoy playing either way, as long as everyone is playing this way. Next time you hear it just tell them scripts are allowed on the server and there are servers and games that don't allow/discourage scripting. Some people you can't persuade on the matter and when you can't just let them know there are other places to play that don't allow such things were he won't have to worry about it. |

I mean come on it's text LMAO....just thought I would share... P.S. Oh scripts packages I LOVE U XOXOXOXOXOXO People have talked about this before that the game knowledge is what makes the player and not the scripts they use, however scripts do help players a lot, otherwise they wouldn't be used. It doesn't matter if it is a very good player or someone who just figured out how to fire up a pdrop script with twx - you can still be very much in a pod. I prefer to use my own scripts as much as possible, even though they are not nearly on the level of some in the script packages. When I pod or #SD# someone with my own script, then I feel like I may have accomplished something - I took into account the possible situations that might be encountered and for that I have to research the game. If I use DU's quick kill script, I just have to have the ability to fire the script up and wait. Yes,I also know that you need to know when to use a script and what can happen that could be negative. When someone complains about scripts they usually don't have decent scripts, although scripts are pretty easy to come by. If they think it takes less game knowledge to write them than playing the game by hand, then they are very wrong. One of the challenges is figuring out how to beat someone's script, and I think most can be beat - key word is most because there is one script I know of that I have not been able to beat. This is off topic, but what type of player would give you the hardest time? Someone who just fires up scripts or someone who can adapt their scripts to the situation at hand? If you are one that just fires up a script, then figure out how it works and how you would go about beating it. Learn the game along with the script. |

It really depends alot of who's playing. I played a game on TEOI a while back when I first started getting serrious about trade wars, and everybody was running scripts. Then after rebang, and alot of server problems, the crowd was alot different, and I was getting called a cheater everyday in the logs cuz I made no attempt to hide the fact that I used scripts. |

It could be policed, but It's like this who really has that much free time that they can really sit at keys to actually colo a planet to lets say 25k, by hand rather than script.Sorry but if peeps can't adapt then just like in real life you are destined to fail.Further more I think alot of script writers need to be thanked cuz if not for them where would TW2002 be???? Probably in a zip file. So here goes I will thanks yall cuz I love the game of Trade Wars 2002. CK,SupG,Oz,The Rev,Xide,Wildstar,Dell Bond,Rammar, and last but not least Alexio. If not for these peeps I ask you tradewars community where would we be???? If I have forgot anybody it's cuz iI haven't used your scripts but i am always down to try new ones[;)] P.S. THE STONEAGE Bot:: Auto Response :: LMAO type away!!!!!! While we destroy you!!! Suddenly you hear a faint metallic click on you hull... |

You wouldn't be able to colo a 25k planet just because the turns would be so low, when games were mostly below 500 turns and 1k sectors. Scripts came and allowed the game to expand now a 1k turn game is very much managable and turns can be burnt quickly with scripts, 1k turns by hand can ge tough, especially when haggling. You either need a lot of time pain or scripts in higher turn games to compete. First scripts were made for tradewars, then tradewars began to be made around scripts. Higher speed connections helped to tho |

I believe scripts have kept the game alive and it makes the game easier for a newb to grasp and enjoy , otherwise newbs will resort to duping which is truly evil in my mind. What I would say to antiscripters would be.....guys if you don't like scripts , go to a server where scripts are banned , why play in a game where you #itch all the time?Jus my Canadian 2 cents |
