Ok, here are details for the next large corp game. It is called Genocide. Its going to be 800 turns. MBBS. The 3 CEO's for this game are Krimsonblade, Silence and Slim Shady. Registration begins now and will end at 9 pm Central on Monday the 10th. The draft will occur very soon after. The only way to register is to e-mail me at lord_vader76@hotmail.com. Make the subject "Genocide". I need the handle you will use in the game. I will post edits when I get a chance. These are brand new and twa will be available on the website as well. Don't ask me for it, I'm not giving it out individually. This will be a fun game as they always are, so sign up now. Also, if you know people that would benefit from this or enjoy it but they dont' read this forum, pass it along. The more the merrier.

Really kinda hoping more people would sign up. Everybody always says they enjoy the draft games, or that they can't get on a corp. Here is a guaranteed chance to be on a corp.

I think you're going on too little prep time. The game is supposed to start Saturday, I've heard. That gives little sign up time and even less prep time for the corps. I can tell you form personal experience, you can't just expect everyone to jump in the game and have things go smoothly.

Probably right, but everyone's in the same boat. There are reasons behind it, mostly USO. This one needs to be winding down before USO starts (if it actually goes down).

yes, im guessing it will be like 3 corps of like 6 or 7.
no time to sign up, no time to prep.
i would have much prefered a draft game AFTER USO.
#1. give us more time to get our heads together for USO.
#2. give the people who played the turn game recently a break.
#3. give people time to work on other projects.
#4. give more lead time to get a good draft game, rather than just a hasty game thrown together that probably will end quick and won't be that much fun.

i personally would rather play USO than a draft game.

Personally, I really don't care a whole lot one way or the other. USO / Draft / Nothing. But, we will see how it goes I guess. Vader's above comment suggest USO may not happen. In general, I play 6 man corp games all the time, so large draft games for me are more fun. Mostly because they are balanced. Bring your own corp games usually end up lopsided. Of all the games I have played in the last 6 months, I think 1 game was not lopsided that was not draft, and that was KI. Just my .01 cents

We're up to 29 signed up so far. Corp sizes will be decent to bearable for the CEO's. And, not having a lot of time to prepare isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes, adversity brings out the best in some people.

Bring your own games are good, but i have to agree with Jhereg. They normally end up lopsided with one corp running away with an easy victory. I personally beleive this is largly due in fact to the recent departure of many good TW players, and leaving a couple of perma's very well stacked (Only Time will change this).
Drafts are very much the opposite and we end up normally with mixed corps of different skill levels. This in itself, will normally level the playing feild. Of course there are the occasional drafts where some of the better players join under alias and end up going last to a tipped off CEO.
I'm comfortorable with Vaders ability to run a tight server and am not personally too worried about a re-occurence of this type of problem, however i would like to asked in a public venue, that the list of players and draft order be posted.
Good Luck guyz, and cheers to a good game.

ok, but only if you understand that we are gonna conspire to pick you last zoso. :) hehe.
as for bring your own corp games, jher, if you dont want it lop sided, stop bringing stacked corps. a stacked corp is 50% elite or more. heh.
i personally was on my way to bringing a rather good corp to USO, but odds are, i won't play USO. you never know, i might not lose any more members, and i might gain a couple, but truely, i doubt it.
how often do we play a point based game of twars?
how often do we play a draft game?
exactly.

hmmm, points game eh? well that would be quite interesting.. same as draft, but players are assigned point value based on bickering between captains :)
then sysop organises teams based on a point cap for every team.. (or so I assume slim?)

Sounds interesting, but I'm sure it would encourage smurfing by quite a few players.
