As a CEO of a strong corporation I occasionally
give gifts to fellow players, newbie's, and the like.
Some are grateful and would like the protection that
my corporation would afford.

Problem:
Nobody can be trusted!
By allowing them to be a member of my corporation they get
access to all the corporation's assets. This is
unacceptable.

Solution:
Restricted access. I want an option to allow for new
corpies to have access to this planet only and to
NOT be able to see other player's locations.

Personally, it sounds like you play with some shady people. Although there are some horror stories I hear, I can't recall ever having a person I corp with betray me. Perhaps you should check some servers with more reputable players.

"Personally, it sounds like you play with some shady people"

whats wrong with that? hehe.

pcunite. here is the deal. as with ALL facits of life, there will always be scum, and occasionally, you will step on it. you just have to take a deep breathe and wipe off your shoe. can't let it get to you, especially for just a game, cause it IS just a game. be happy that instead of someone mugging you on the street or breaking into your house, they just stole your stuff in an online text based game (which also happens to rebang new games very often).

i will always give a person atleast one chance. no matter what. it is up to them what they do with that chance.

I have to agree with slim pickens (ICK!). Be careful who you corp with, they can backstab you if your not paying attention. That is part of the game. Always has been.

If you want, we can give you invincibility pills and unlimited figs, maybe even make you invisible to run around the universe in complete safety........of course, that would be about as much fun as playing checkers with a dead man.

He has a point though. It would be kind of cool if you could give people some kind of security access to planets or citadels. There is still always a chance for problems, but that is also part of the game.

its still around, went to help a guy who said he was a noob in a Game that was really about over.
Went off line and came back a couple hours later and low and behold I'm in a pod and he owns everything. Think he used the name Shamus in that one, then made a corp called Backstabbers. Makes peeps un willing to help/ train noobs.

Yeah, I can relate to being backstabbed. It was the only way this guy could take me out, not that I was that good, he was just that bad. Sooo, he came in as a different nick, played like a noob so I took him in. Came in the next day to find myself podded and all my stuff his. He wasn't popular in the game after that and since it was stagnant, I left too. It's difficult for the **gasp** nicer guys who play NOT to help the newer people playing and all I can say is those who backstab eventually find themselves on the outside looking in.

I've seen a very funny backstabbing since I game back to the game a year sgo.
This guy enlisted a buddy of mine into his corp to help take out another corporation in the game, and kicked him after they were done. He had promised not to attack my friend as part of the agreement, but went back on it.

It turned out the guy never changed his corp password after he kicked my friend, so he took over all their stuff, including pulling everything off their ships, and towed them out to a deadend and set figs and mines to take them out when they got back. I was laughing until I had tears in my eyes after I saw that.

I would say that was more payback that was deserved than backstabbing. Your friend's back was already bleeding when he did it. Anytime someone is dropped from a corp, then that corp should have enough sense to change their SS, corp pw, and move their base. And that is very true when dropping that person was not warranted because people have a tendency for wanting to get payback.

I was in a game recently where another corp dropped a player without a reason and the player was added to our corp. They only changed their SS after they were sent a message on that channel. Was it wrong to take in the dropped player? I don't think so since that player was in the game to enjoy it, and I think he really enjoyed it when he #SD# three of their players.

And Martha Stewart went to jail for insider information?

i was or still are,in a game and asked to join a corp, then the narrow minded CEO after chating he pulled a 180 on me and drop me,,,guess he dont like straight players, but i know where all his stuff is,,, and its tempting to go pod him and take his junk!

i found out later someone told him a lie about me, and he booted me, and didnt even ask if it was true! or if i had a side of the story,I guess thats kinda a BACKSTAB, players making up stuff to make you look bad, Im good at looking bad all by myself,, dont need help!

IMO it is not a necessary feature when there are so many others that could be implemented. If there was an information sharing going on, most players that are on here can recruit enough help to avenge in wrong doing and also a quick message to the game-op can resolve these kind of issues. Most of the op's on the servers I have played would jump right on this issue and try to resolve issues of ethical play. Besides there is always a game banging every other day... lol
