first somthing about me
.. i played tradewar in 1997,1998 and 1999 but i stoped to play some other games e.g. half-life.
the last weeks i have been looking in the old box of games,
and i rememberd tradewar.
So im trying to get back in the game.
But i found out about tradewar helper programs, scripts etc.
I dont know what this all is and the more posibility's etc.
When i played it was just the normal telnet screen.
Can anny one help me whit this all.

For helpers/scripts, use

swath (http://www.swath.net) with twxproxy (http://www.twxproxy.com)
or
zoc (http://www.emtec.com/zoc) with rev-helper (http://www.thereverend.org/tradewars/files.html) and twxproxy

Swath and zoc are telnet programs.. Swath is an actual helper that includes scripts, macro, mapping, etc functions. TWXProxy is something you run inbetween your terminal program and the server. It allows you to run twx scripts.

To set it all up, set your terminal/helper program to 127.0.0.1 port 23, your twx proxy to the server's address and port

i would recommend starting with ZOC alone, its a quite customizeable telnet app - i dont recommend starting with a helper, cause really knowing the keystrokes and getting a 'feel' for the game again is the most important

jus a forewarning - competitive TW play has gotten more demanding over the years, so when/if you'd want to start playing on the 'more' crowded server's, you'd need some of the aforementioned gear. (re: wot's post)

Heh, I'm not arguing, but I will say, I don't do "too" bad with my macros, and basic trading scripts.
