Ok, I've heard problems of corpies not playing their moves and disapearing, but what do you do about a CEO that does that? I have a CEO that played maybe 2 days (game is 14 or so days old now) and hasn't showed back up. The bad part is that I have about 600k of the 650k figs in the game and a new corp has joined. Since I am also in two other games, I can't watch this game as close as it should be watched - no corp pw to get another corpie into the game with either.

I think a solution to this would be to set a 7 day (or less)inactive limit before a player is removed from the game. The limit in this game is 30 days -- games are over in many cases by then.

solution 1: dont lose corp password :)
solution 2: yell at him on icq
solution 3: claim all personal, put him somewhere safe, quit corp, make a new corp, claim all corporate, get new corpies in there to replace the grid you just lost :(

lol, I agree... Capture his ship and leave him in a pod. I play CEO a lot, and if i didnt show up for 2-3 days, id expect that totally.

How many players go into a game just to check put settings, or spend some time in between games. they get ask to join or someone ask to join them. Then a new game that your interested comes along. soon your time makes it not possible to play both games. I am guilty of this at times. If I were ceo and did not show up I wou;d expect the player to take the assets. #sd# me if its advantageous. It would be my fault for not showing up or getting back to them. I do try to hook up and not leave corpies hanging. But if it happened I overlooked it Kill me if you want. Thats my take.
Oh most times I have not shown up which are few. Server was down for several days and i figured its was just another one gone by the wayside. then to find out it came back later.

Yeah, I need to start making a note of the corp pw w/o a doubt since old CRS kicks in way too often. :) I sent him my ICQ, but never got his in return - might have been telling me something there. I thought seriously about solution 3 -- really hate to lose that grid at 23% of the game tho, the figs will still stop eprobes, but now mine will also be stopped.

I think an overall solution is for the sysOp/gameOp settings to not be so lenient in removing players. If everyone knows that they will be removed after 3,4 or even 7 days (maybe a cushion for a system going down for a few days) then maybe that will help keep players involved. Of course losing a ship that cost $$$ and was loaded with figs/shields and everything else at extern one night would be a pain to the corp.

Heat Sink is also right in that if a player does not play for an extended time, then when they come back, they will probably find that they have had their ship capped and been booted to make room for someone who will play. Leaving them in a pod next to a "beginner" ship and with some credits in their bank account with a message on what happened might be good (still a waste of corp assets if they don't come back). That way, if they do come back at least they could rejoin without losing too much and the corp would have the "good" ship to work with in that player's absence.

To me, booting a corpie is always hard to do, booting a CEO is even worse because that is supposed to be the person, in my opinion anyway, that should be calling the shots for the game. Ah well, it is just a game and I will probably just check in on this particular one when I can and concentrate on the game where I am in a corp and one where I am currently solo.

Well I must admit in a few games I played with you as you were the CEO and you couldn't play anymore, you told me in advance, you took a crappy ship to xport into, promoted me as CEO, and then sat at the star dock uncloaked and not fed-safe. You are great in my book as a CEO.

Promethius is not the issue, always there, very consistent, either with or against, but I too have heard some of the same grumbling.

No real good solution is readily apparent here, although the ones offered have merit and pros and cons, I got to hand the big... what if...

1) Redneck - Dawg died, had to make casket attend funeral, get a new dawg.
2) Islander - Darn was that a tsunami???

etc etc...

Anyways when dealing with a corp member, caution is better than just outright mutiny or sedition in this kats humble opinion.

With Respect,
Suralle the Kat

We repect your Authoro-ty...Wotok..LOL

I think if they have showed up and don't get back to ya take over stuff and let them live , but don't go out of you way to protect um.
If they want back in after they are out let um back in if they have helped alot to build what you now possess...

Suddenly you hear a faint mettalic click on the side of your hull...

yea, I agree... if they helped build or cash and did there part. then didnt show up for 2-5 days and came back to let them join you again if theres a spot open and hes willing to play and not miss that much time again.
but it all depends on the game, edits, people, competition, etc...
