In order to avoid removing the smack talk forum all together changes have been made. The smack talk forum has always followed the same rules that the rest of the forums follow, except that they were relaxed for flame type posts that were meant to be about in game subjects or game related, there are a couple of sticky topics in the forum that have addressed this for quite some time. Well recently more and more of these posts have become just plain mean and for the most part they are just derogatory to the game and these forums in general. When I added the Smack Talk forums JP told me he thought it was a mistake but I assured him that the few people that abuse it would be far outweighed by the many who used it for entertainment. Well it seems that I was wrong because smack talk for the most part isn’t considered today what it was. It use to be an entertaining part of the game to “trash talk” your opponents, tell them how bad you were going to beat them down and what not, lately “smack talk” seems to define vulgar, profane and impertinent personal attacks, and that is a shame.
The smack talk forum has been renamed "Trade Wars Open Discussions" and just so everyone is aware the rules are the same as every other forum, for example don’t circumvent the word filter by any means, don’t personally attack people, and try and remain civil. If you must take part in these low brow types of discussions there are other avenues on the internet, both Trade Wars related and other, where you can participate. For the vast majority of you who have been using this forum this change will have 0 effect on your posts as the great percentage of our member’s posts are regardful even in heated discussions. Unfortunately the recent trends of abusive, contemptuous and just outright rude posts have dictated this change.
We hope everyone’s experience on the forums is a good one and we enjoy providing this feature for our members.
