I have read the changes you made to this forum area and I applaud them. I also realize that it was some of my posts aimed at you in specific that probably led to these changes.

Let me just take this opportunity to bury the hatchet somewhat.

I publicly apologize to you for any attacks against you that I have made in this forum and to Harley, and if I insulted you two, or John Pritchett in any way I offer this heartfelt apology.

Such things were NEVER appropropiate here, even if it was a "smack talk" forum! This is Eis Online, and any attacks or insults aimed at the Forum itself, it's moderators, any of the EIS products, or the developers of those product should have been STRICTLY FORBIDDEN from the start!

It should have been understood that if anyone has a problem with the product or with the support, or with the moderates, or with administration of these forums, such complaints should have been made privately through the "contact" features provided on the forum.

I was way out of line to criticize you, Harley or anyone else associated with Eis Online, or the product which are being discussed here (Eis products).

It also should not be a place to attack other Systems and say "you shouldn't play here or there because the sysop cheats," or other such things. I don't believe for one second that when you envisioned this forum you were wanting to provide a place for people to come and complain about this twars site or that, or this sysop or that sysop!

Might I suggest that you add this to the provisions and limitations of the forums. If someone wants to complain about some system they think is cheating people, it should be FORBIDDEN to post the URL of this site here in a public forum. If someone wants to know where the supposed "infraction" occurred, they can email the person.

What I am saying is this, you are taking the lead, Rick, in improving this forum and I applaud you loud and long! Keep it up.

I have to say, after reading the last few posts you have made recently, I am gaining a higher degree of respect for you. I mean that sincerely.

Goes to show how much freedom you really have in the smack talk area that is not Monitored LOL. I think a smack talk area is pointless if you cant talk smack about anything and about anyone you want. Good Idea Sweep Sysop Cheaters under the carpet. I feel sorry for the good ones now will be lumped all together as the sysops. Ok enuff complaining its not wanted here any way. <shrugs>

no one said you couldn't expose cheaters, you just don't need to insult their mother, cuss them out, threaten them or whatever. Everyone just needs to use a little common sense, If you really have a hard time figuring out what is appropriate contact an admin and ask.

well when u are on an all nighter from studying and try to get ahold of an admin to ask if you can play a joke, you might just get a rude response (not u, from u i got a "?") heh, but i'm mad now cause of that and i can't even flame now i think you guys planned this. you win this round mr. rude, (name of a wrestler, if i get banned for that, boy ill show you some cussing) but next round, its gonna be on my turf.

It's not hypocrital to apologize for past offenses. It's NEVER hypocritical!

Slim, you can still slam people's game skills, or laugh at me when you kill me (which I'm sure you will again). You can poke fun at their game skills, their game knowledge, you can do all the fun things that you love to do. These changes won't effect you in the least because you are not one to personally insult people (at least I haven't seen you do it).

If you look at the title of this forum string, it's no longer "smack talk" but "open discussion." That still leaves a lot of latitude.

As far as "exposing cheaters," that's pretty hard to do unless you've got ROCK SOLID proof of cheating! I personally prefer this approach:

I went to an UNNAMED system and this is what happened (post captures) stats etc.

Then people can email you or send you a private message if they agree something fishy went on and you can tell them where it happened!

Now, you've exposed a cheater or potential cheater, without using EISonline as a direct way to damage other systems!

Heck, I've always done it that way, and I STILL got BLASTED for it!

Other guys get on here and say "here's a system to stay away from," then post the URL and everyone stands up and applauds them!

Well, that is if they are a part of the "clique."

Well I guess I don't get it. I could care less what someone calls me, my mother, or even my dog. in a smack talk forum. Especially over a game. I always thought the smack talk was just that blowing off steam, or busting someones balls. I will leave it at that. From now on slim I will only smack on you ICQ. Don't want to hurt anyones virgin eyes.

If you think you might have to ask if something is ok before you post it, perhaps it would be best if you waited for a response from the person you asked before you did it. To ask "Hey, can I post a false bug report?" would get you told "no, it causes confusion and leads to work answering questions about it, and other people testing it." If you ask it and then a while later after no response say "Well, I just went ahead and did it" causes all those things to happen, which irritates your mild mannered forum moderator
