Ok Trav 1.1 made the ships too powerful and made the game wicked insane. Trav 1.2 brings better balance to the game between the ships. It is the best one yet. Oh yeah I almost forgot and I wanted to make it a suprise, but the Vargr ships have two pods. I call it Shell Pod technology. For example the Vargr Gunboat pods to a Vargr Assault Trader, which pods to a Vargr Scout. All Vargr ships have this ability. I was going to keep it to myself, but Chris Romp made the point that if I knew it and other players did not, that it would be unfair if I played in those edits. Of course anyone is free to download the TWA file and see what pods the ships have, etc. but not everyone has TWGS to view the TWA file. Also Patrol Cruiser needs a Federal Comission to pilot. It is a better trading ship now to even up the balance between red and blue players. It always needed a Federal Comission, I forgot that I did not switch that off when I based it on the ISS. First Trav 1.0 game I played in it I changed from blue to red and tried to bust planets in it and a Fed got me. X-Boat Tender pods into an X-Boat. System Defense Boat is the Tholian ship. Emperor's Ship and Vargr Emperor Ship need CEO status to pilot. Imperials are disabled for this game to avoid all the fig hits corrupting twmail.dat, you can enable them if you wish but I do not reconmend it. The Vargrs should be enough to trouble the players by themselves. Game changes notes: Arucard helped me make changes to the edits to get a much better game. Photon price raised to avoid photon wars. Radiation Halflife changed to 5 to avoid class 0 and 9 ports regenerating slowly. Port Regen changed to 125% Bubbles have been removed. Photons now are set to 2 seconds. 1000 turns per day, 40K credits, 50 holds, more standard. Multi-Photons turned on. When using .55 or below, please remove planet 2, Ferrenginal. Newer versions do not have this planet in the edits. The story so far: In this sector of space that the Imperium and Vargrs overlapped the Federation space, there was a large war between the Vargrs and Imperium. The Vargrs wiped out the Imperium from this sector of space, but now there are fewer Vargrs. Imperium technology beefed up the power of some of the ships, but due to bypassing safety standards they had to be changed yet again. Prices were made more reasonable on starships. Vargr ships now have Shell pod technology. Due to a research station conducting an experiment in time/space travel, the bubbles that were once there in space now have vanished. Will the Imperium return with enforcements? Will the Vargrs dominate? We shall see... |
