A pdrop can be more deadly than a photon. A photon can disable your ship and take away turns, but if you get blasted by a planet that just warped into the sector you moved into, and the sector level is set to higher than 50% you could very well be podded if they have a ton of ore on the planet. Someone can ptorp you and not have enough figs to take you out, then you hope you get your turns back or a corpmate tows you before the ptorper comes back with more figs. One of the corps I was on ran into that situation before, we outfigged the ptorper and he couldn't pod the ship. Now if he instead dropped a planet on the corpmate we had, it would have podded him. Frellin', you are a FarScape fan too, right? |

One of the misconceptions of a pdrop is it immediately fires a cannon at the person you drop it on, it doesnt. If the person tries to land, he is fired on, if the planet is level 6 with the IG on it will fire if he tries to move. Other than that he is safe to leave the sector and keep on going providing he hasnt been ptorped. |
