****ULTIMATETW.COM******SYSOP IS A WHINER AND A CHEAT!!!!!!!

Well this a word of warning...this is the worst run board that I have had the displeasure of wasting 12 hours.

My first mistake was playing somewhere where rules are NOT posted anywhere.....But upon speaking w/ the sysop Solomon he said that his games follow the guidelines of tradwars league play. So I figured no problem...I have played at several of the league servers and never have any troubles what so ever.

My second mistake was playing where the sysop plays in his "OWN" games. He asked that we not surround sd and attack People our own size....(whatever that means) And to attack people if we found thier planets. Well since the game had been running several days already...we thought everyone was fair game.

Well my third mistake.....(according to sysop) was knowing how to play. And that was ruining it for everyone else. The corp (myself and three other others: Jhereg, Kasey, and Rogue Scorpion) were making the game NOT fun. Not fun??? I asked who was saying that?? I was having fun!!! It seems our horrendous crime was ....attacking the sysops 2 home sectors and #SD# him.

We did not use any nasty comments or unfair play, as a matter of fact as stated ealier the game had started several days previous and we no home planets or sectors of our own.

What should be of concern to all was the lack of any explantion of why our players are now banned from "his" board. Well we all do know why....because we were kicking his butt! We came in as a team and organized...no other corp had more than 2 players on it. We had 4.

We ran SDT for about 6 hours made several millions of dollars and went exploring. The first corp home bases we find belonged to the sysop. He had ONE toll fighter guarding his main base. So we took everything.

His second sector had 250 mines and 2,500 figs guarding it...and there was Solomn setting in the sector...not even on a planet!!! So I killed him and took those planets as well....

So I guess my first question is, does this seem that these actions were against the "spirit of the game of Trade WARS"???

Second, is there a league rule that prohibits the league player from attacking another if the game has NO TRUCE?

Third, are league game servers allowed to ban players without at least an reasonable explanation of what were our volations. And why in the world would any trader or the member of the trade wars league want to have a server like this represent them??

Well enough said other than....don't waste your time playing there or you just may find your account deleted and all your assest taken away without reasonable justification of why other than you are a decent player.

His last words were..."your not making it fun for everyone"...."you're playing bad"....well the truth is...we were playing good and ready to rule the game. Shame on us for knowing how to play!!!

Yea, so were is the cheating you accuse us of? I had no fighters in my sector, ungaurded planets, and no fighters on my character? Anyhow, well, the real truth is, no one was complaining because everyone got blown up.

We in the game had worked for 2 weeks enjoying the game, when these four players came in last night, ran some busting script all night, and destroyed everyone in the game. How is that fun for anyone but you? We did not open this server for you.

This is a top notch and expensive dedicated server for the real players. This game was not meant to be played like that. It is RUDE, and disrespectful for punks to act like this. You are not welcome to act like that on a server that is free and open to the respectful public.

Most players that I know, and I have played this game for more than 15 years, don't act like this. This is the actions of delinquints that have to much time and no self esteem that have to trash other players to enjoy themselves. So, find somewhere else to take your crap, and have a great life.

I hate to break it to you bud, but that team that you complained about just now (Pheonix Rising) is not only one of the most RESPECTED perma corps in tradewars because they treat people very fairly and rarely engage in negative behaviour, smack talk, etc., but they are also one of the best teams around. Most of the people on that team also played this game 10-15 years ago; the difference between you and them is that they have adapted to the changes in the game. It sounds like you haven't.

It sounds like maybe you just "rediscovered" tradewars recently, found out it was relatively inexpensive to get a twgs license, and you put up a server with the thought in mind that people still played the way they did back in 1990. Well, HELLO!!!!!!! this is 2003, almost 2004, and SCRIPTS dominate this game now. You sound a bit resentful and naive with your remark "they ran some busting script all night" but the fact of the matter is, they probably found an unlim game that looked like nobody had emerged as a clear winner, and decided to take it down for the League win credit it would garner them. They meant nothing personal against your server or your friends, they just played Tradewars the way it is commonly played in late 2003.

If you want to run friendly, non-killing, builder type games, there is nothing wrong with this; but don't blame (and BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) some guys that just happen to wander into a game that had no unusual rules posted, just because they went about their normal efficient, well-organized style of play. Just post your rules conspicuously, and for heaven's sake, don't play on your own server in public games! That is not only bad form, it will keep the honest players away because there's just been too much abuse in the past. If you must play on your own server, do it in a private game, preferably using an alias.

First and foremost, though, I recommend you go out into the "real world" of tradewars and see how the game is really played nowadays, before banning someone next time for doing nothing more than simply playing the game the way it's played circa 2003.

Well, Galaxi, I appreciate your candid bantor. I understand that it is different now for some. But, for some it is not. I have played for many years, on and off, and I understand that scripts now run the game. But, the fact remains, first it wasn't a league game and they knew that, second, ALL of the players had enjoyed the game until they got on. I understand they are good players, and probably very respected, but they were rude to me, and most of all, rude to the players. I saw it first hand. Period. Thats why they were banned, and it was probably a half hour of arguing and trying not to before it had to be done, and it wasn't actually my decision, it was the decision of the owner of the box that was on the phone with me at the time.
As for playing on my own box, why the hell would I be a part of the workings of that box if I wasn't going to play on it. Thats BS. We all play on our own servers. The only reason anyone knew who i was was because it was a TEST game and we were getting the settings right. I would have liked to keep that one going, but they eliminated that option. As for the rules, they will be posted tonight, but we had discussed those rules before any of them started playing, and they understood the rules were to be posted shortly, putting this stuff together is a thankless, sometimes difficult, and always time consuming task.
As for the real world, I have played at MANY servers, over MANY years, and I have never once in all of my life ran accross that kind of behavior and I was appalled at the disrespect these guys showed for others on the server.
Again, they knew this was NOT a league game, that the league game would be starting in a few days, and still will be, and that the rules were most deffinately NOT league for that game, contrary to what he would have you believe. So, again, not everyone is a 'power' player, some of us are actually in it for the fun.

League play isn't fun, it's a job, winning is fun, destroying is fun- sitting in a game, arguing with a sysop about how you play the game is not fun.

The game has turned into a sport now that programmers are 75% if not more of the comminty...Me being one of them.....So I ask you y did you not make the game a closed game so this problem would not happen...You ban people because you get beat....And when did you think that you were going to be respected for playing on your own server....First that is your biggest mistake.....Next i ask like Galixi pointed out how long have you played this game???????This is a scripted game....YEah it might be sad to say for some but that is just the way it is.....NExt there always has to be a winner and a loser and you were the loser so you did not have fun....I have lost many TW games and had just as much fun playing in them....I also ask how many turns were there in this game if there was unlimited turns with no truce then someone runs a script and kills you i would have to say get better defences or lower the turns....Botton line is they had organization and you got smoked....Nuff Said

You just exist and play as you want to play, and hope that some punk doesn't come along and play the numbers. I have played this game probably longer than most of you have been off the teet. Bottem line is you need to have some success in life so that you don't need to crusade for crushing all around you online. Move on, our server isn't interested in you.

#1 Why in the F**K would a sysop play on his own board. I seen something about playing games you made well, I have no server and made a game and 3 boards have it running. There is WAY to many boards out there that need player for any sysop to be playing his own board.

#2 Solonamadeus sounds like your a straight up sissy ***** in a game where you where mister big dick on campus and had a real team come in that showed you how the game is played and you got Jealous and did the NUMBER ONE REASON wy a sysop shouldnt play his own game you hit up good old TEDIT.

I'm not going to bag on you for what you did. But, you are totally wrong about one thing. Sysops don't normally play games on their own board. No no #1. Its too easy to cheat and frankly, its too tempting not to. And, if you do win, you have to defense other than your honor to prove you didn't sneak a peak at where people are in the universe and exactly what they have. I run my own server and enjoy it. But, I don't recommend you advertise your games here if you don't wish to have strong players like the type you'll find here in your games. They'll wipe the floor with your players every single time. I'm like you. I go way back in the TW world. But, times have changed and most players have too. Its admirable to have an enviroment like you are trying to create, but this isn't the place to be. There are servers that have been opened 3 weeks, and have a constant connection rate of 10-14 users.
