I saw a several-month-old post discussing this subject last night, and while I sat in my $30-$60 Hold-em game at the Bellagio today I thought about it a little bit......
So what do they have in common?
RUTHLESSNESS

correct, if you play video poker by yourtself. WSOP has rules concerning what a player CAN NOT say. So Poker, say what you want and play by yourself like Res or play and obey rules and manners and play a class game like WSOP.
But getting back to the original question, Poker is a game of chance, and chance does play into TW also. So in both players must know the odds and play them smartly.

Poker is a game of chance but there is a certain skill level to it. You have to know how to bluff, and that is a skill. Making your opponets think you have a straight flush and all you have is an Ace of Hearts, King of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, and Jack of Hearts showing, but you don't have any other Hearts in your hand. But you raise the ante so high that they think you do so they fold. Then you win on a busted straight flush. You have to also have the right facial expressions, which is hard to do on an Internet Poker game.
My father plays card games on Yahoo, MSN, Pogo, and the Sierra Card Games software, wins most of the time because he knows what he is doing. Of course I keep his computer running for him so he can play those games. Just fixed his DSL issues, and my brother (Black Demon) uses the same DSL for his Diablo II and other games. My brother used to be a big Tradewars player, but got into Meridian 59 and Everquest and tons of Muds and quit Tradewars. We were on local BBSes in the 314 area code taking out other corps, I was the builder and he was the invader. We also had a few other members but I've tried to recuit them, but no interest yet. One was interested but he keeps getting viruses on his system and they prevent him from installing the TW Helpers, so he gave up trying.

Oh my!
I just realized that a whole block of text that i THOUGHT had been cut and pasted into my original post (above), didn't make it, rofl. I apologize to everyone for the mystical post.
The WSOP is the World Series of Poker, held annually in April and May at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas, NV. It is a series of high-stakes poker tournaments, culminating in the "main event", the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold-em event. The winner of this event is widely regarded as the World Champion of Poker for the coming year.
I have played in this event myself 9 out of the last 12 years, and I can personally attest to the RUTHLESSNESS that one must employ to have a shot suriving beyond the first day. (It lasts almost a week: it's a grueling marathon of on-the-edge-of-your-seat play where one mistake is usually fatal.) Because they are trying to bring corporate sponsorhip into elite poker, to make it a tour like golf and tennis have, they have, in recent years, established behavioral guidelines in most major events. My orginal post was supposed to have had a quote from Res claiming that anything goes at the tables, along with my refutation of that assertion, but Res and I have spoken about it in the interim and it turns out he hasn't been in Vegas in a few years and didn't know how radically things had changed. Therefore I don't see any reason to quote his original comments, but I do hope this explanation has enlightened everyone to what this topic is all about. =)
