If you are going to post your games in the EIS forums could you please have a little ****ing respect for the people who invest time into your game. I've been playing in a game for over a month now, my planets have reached critical levels, and the sysop just takes the server down now for days at a time with out any warning. No idea when it will be back up. I have missed 3 externs in a row, my planets are overloaded with products and probably colonists too. $%^& - YOU

The game has boiled down to just 2 players. I guess he doesn't mind jerking around 2 measly players so he can burn crap to his CD. Once again, %$^& - YOU.

Sounds like BioHazmat, I haven't been able to get on that server for almost a week now. Either network issues, or the server is down. I think the FedSpace beacon said the game was going to be rebanged because the settings were not yet right. Maybe the GameOp took the server down to check on things?

Please remember, it is their server, not ours. We are allowed to play for free and are a guest on their server. If you have a problem with it, find another server to play on. Plenty of them out there.

Stuff happens. There's nothing quite so frustrating for both the sysop and players as when a game gets corrupted or you lose a hard drive midway through or something like that. Most players are understanding so long as the 'op makes an effort at communicating what's going on. If he or she doesn't, well, one can expect to get lambasted in some public forum. Hard lessons for the newbie 'op, but everyone gets flamed at some point no matter how good, fair, etc. you are.

Yes at least they should post something on their web site and cite a reference to the web site in the TWGS main menu so players can check it for updates.

System78 does this:
http://www.twgs.system78.com/

He also has a feedback option to leave feedback from players about the game. He had his game server go down and it needed replacement. He posted that on his web site and gave us a ETA when the new server would be back up.

I logged into BioHazmat's BBS and saw a message that their TWGS server is down.

You can Telnet to them at biohazmat.ath.cx and register an account on their BBS.

TWGS Server was at biohazmat.ath.cx port 1313

I would like to add that as a SysOp who loves having TW online and running, that sometimes we are at the mercy of ISP's... My connection had been knocked out by Qwest, and I have been forced to migrate to MSN... Great, other that the fact that I dont have my same email, static addresses, or anything else anymore. SO... sometimes, we all hjave to grin and bear it...

Thanks,

Sep

SEP Wrote this:

Hey all...

I apologize for the limited information... The server will be going back up soon...

What happened is this... I was forced to change broadband providers from Qwest to MSN.... MSN isnt (at this point) supporting my Static addressing like they said they would... I am right now in a HUGE debate with the two ISP's to get my old service restored (since MSN clearly is not providing what they said they would) and tonight is the first time I have been able to get online in a LONG time...

Keep posted, the game shall restart where it left off... unless there is a vote otherwise...

I am sorry for the HORRBILE inconvenience...

Sysops like Major Payne that play on their own servers, with DUP names and create multiple EIS forum accounts and even develop players on dif servers are IGNORANT to think they can pull this **** with ME.

I see right through them.
