Well I agree TWX kicks Butt but I still think Zoc bites. Maybe I will learn when Res pods my Butt some day.

what dont you like about zoc?
The scroll speed?
Its adjustable...4 settings.
32 user defined buttons
20 user defined Fkeys
32 auto macros
32 auto reply macros
Run TWX/BURST via zoc buttons.
What do you use with TWX....?

ZOC's scroll speed with win9x really sucks. Even with the jumps set as high as they'll go, it lags way behind.

I think zoc bites. The scripts are sloppy.I use J-twat,Swath and Attac all on twx at same time. Each has a scrpt i need so I run all 3 and the jtwat is great for macros. That zoc looks to generic. But what ever makes you happy, enjoy.

I use TWX with Swath, TWX provides me with some pretty fast scripts and Swath provides me with some even better scripts although they are a little slower and it also has 24 user configurable macros including a macro recorder and the ability to tell it how many times to run. On the other hand Zoc provides me with a bunch of scripts in which half dont work and the other half are useless. The macros are nice if you want to memorize that many or search through them each time you need to find the one to use and by then you could be the proud owner of a new pod. I dont like the interface and its clumbsy to work with. On top of that, I can run Zoc scripts in Swath anyway...if they work that is, I still havent found any that work and are worth having.
As for Wildstars post, I dont like Attac either...although I havent tried the latest version. J-twat to me is a memory hog and crashes and locks up too much. I use it for 3 things and that is its ship explore script, its auto-trade or auto-SSM, and its multi ship SST kicks butt.
I still think Swath has the best SST script even over TWX, I havent found one in TWX that doesnt screw up and have you stealing at busted ports and end up with your exp in the toilet because of it. Until someone can provide me with one that actually works...I will still use Swath. Now dont get offended everyone, its just my critique of the available options.

To critisize zoc because the scripts you've found for it don't work well is just plain silly. That's the fault of whoever wrote the script, not some inherent flaw in the program.

I think res's tutorial is more for those people who have no idea of macros/buttons/etc....If your already advanced enough to be using TWX/SWATH/JTWAT combinations, then you are at the point where you've decided what you like best and use it. This is for those people who are still trying to figure out how to break through a stardock defense or survive a few weeks, at least thats my impression. Really shouldnt be critiquing the work he's done to share with others, in fact I've never used buttons do to not really knowing about them, but if i was still playing would set up buttons as res nicely showed.

I agree with the Jtwat errors, its screwy,as for attac,i am useing the new one and its pretty cool,I just happen to find all the helpers have scripts i like.BTW does anyone else have the problem where you do a twx density search and swath says error and you have to close it?Screwy. But like everyone above says,it's a matter of opinion so enjoy what you like.

One thing I learned about the slow scroll speed in zoc was to eliminate as much GAME MESSAGES as possible, now most peeps make twx scripts that us CN9 "on all keys"
so scrolling is not much of a problem.
Who needs to watch a script move ore anyway.....
My sample page is for ADVANCED ZOC use mainly, the Buttons are just macros
to start scripts to run normal tw commands.
So Grave you not playing TW any more why?
I need some one for USO...

Takes too much of my time. New baby, new job, so stopped for a bit, and now can't really imagine going back to spending as much time on the comp as I used to playing twars. Now I can just pop in, spout of about stuff like that timber guy even though I don't play, and go about my business.

if you setup the macros you shouldn't have to search, unless you have an old person's memory if i'm playin a game like those campusparty deathmatch games i usually have all the macro slots taken up and i've never had any problem remembering which is which, the only problem i have is hittin 2 keys at the same time when the **** hits the fan
and ZOC is all i use now, wasn't aware of any other decent telnet clients to use and i hate swath and attac

Well I have read all the info on Res's web site and I will admit it is good information and he has done a wonderful job helping others with his knowledge and for that he deserves kudos. All I was saying is that for someone that has played as long as I have, it would make it very difficult to switch from what I currently use to Zoc. Regardless of the scripts that I cant make work, I still dont care for the interface itself. As for all the buttons and macros and all the Res listed earlier in this thread, I count 116 separate programmable keys according to my math, I have never found a use for more than 10-12 macros total and I get more than what I need for that with Swath. If Res can memorize all 116 of his keys then more power to him and thats prolly why he is such a good player. For me I just dont see the need for all of that, or maybe I do have one of them old persons memories. For all the new players, they will make their choices on their own and Res has done an excellent job in giving them the info to make their decision. I wouldnt mind playing against him sometime to test my methods against his but until then I am happy with what I have.
Keep up the good work Res, you help a lot of people and dont have a problem with putting out the info for people to be able to use on the same level as yourself.

The only time I have had any problems with Swath as far as crashing or errors that cause shutdown is relating to a lack of memory. I upgraded my computer to 512 Meg and all of the problems went away. Also you had said earlier you use all 3 programs with TWX, I know that J-twat is the biggest memory hog of all of them so if you have all of them running at the same time for ease of switching between them then that may be your problem. If I need to switch helpers I find a safe place or my home base to change helpers and only open the ones I am using at the time. I also wonder with Swath and J-twat both using java if there are any conflicts when using both of them at once. I have noticed I run into problems with Swath either immediately after closing J-twat or when switching between them but I dont know where the problem lies. Good luck with it.
By the way, using J-twat with TWX, how do you get rid of the double letters it shows when you type something. Its annoying as hell.
