I've just come from the ATTAC forums and maybe it is just because I'm tired out of my mind and maybe it's just been the stressful week I've just finished up but a post there just really lit my fuse.
Some individual calling himself Lord Deagle posts for the first time in the ATTAC support forum his experience with his evaluation of the product using phrases like 'pointers really aren't that difficult' and 'that's why products at this stage of development are usually labeled 'beta' and how inferior it is to another product. Instead of offering his vast programming experience to help (Earth has posted recently that if folks want to help with ATTAC development to e-mail him with qualifications and he'd consider doling out some projects), he would rather run down the efforts of developers who have actually produced a useable product even if it does not operate at his personal standards.
This goes hand in hand with the players who flame and accuse GameOps of cheating at the first sign of something that they do not have the experience to be able to figure out how it could have happend to them outside of GameOp meddling.
As a TW2002 player and GameOp of many years I realize that puberty does tend to be a bit overwhelming and it seems to last well into the teen and early college years for some, but surely we have learned all about being a good sport early on in life, yes? I mean, you learn to play TW just like any other game; you get your butt kicked over and over again until you learn how to stay in one ship for more than one day, then you learn to start being the one who does the butt-kicking.
If you feel that you're getting a raw deal at a server, don't play there; lord knows there's plenty of other reputable places to play at. If you don't like a particular helper program, don't use it. Use another one, or if you have the skills, write your own so that it works and looks exactly the way you want it to. If you want to be awesome, get in there and get your butt kicked a little and realize that like all things in life there will always be someone better than you.
Ok, I feel better now. [:D]

Personally, I would be pissed if I paid for the program in the expectation that it worked only to find out it was still like it was in a beta stage. If you want people to pay for a product, you had better expect unhappy customers if the product is not up to the standards they were led to believe it was.

Well then, No matter what you buy, a car, house, inkpen, toy for you child, kitchen knife set, computer, TV, Camcorder, VCR ETC.... They all need to have Beta in front of them. They all seem to come out (the day after you buyone) with a newer better model, change or something. Some people were just never taught how to deal with other people. You can catch more flies with honey, if you know what I mean. I have yet to hear that Earth is the type of person to tell you tuff ****. He, as far as I know tries to help as many people as he can. People that have purchased his software as well as thoughs that have not.
Later, I have spent way to much time here

That's what I was getting at really. The person in question hadn't bought the program, or it seemed he hadn't from his post, and rather asking for help from the author or other users or what have you he just went directly into ridicule/b**ch mode on a public forum. That's just plain rude. Anyway, laters.

I dont usually post in the Smack Talk section, but i just released version 4.1.5, which fixes the crashing problem so check it out and let me know if it helps. I also increased the number of REXX cycles for unregistered users when they check the program out. You will find it much improved.
