Here it comes another one of my random thoughts about the game today... Is there a need for blue. In todays games of ship mods and plant mods why play blue? There are really only too reasons in the game to play blue.
One you can twarp into fedspace when you are trying to colonize your planets in your sector...
And Two is because of the kick*** ship the ISS.
Nowadyas the first one is still valid so you stay blue for like the first four days develope a sector colonize it and then what do you do? You turn evil it is much more profitable and with all the new ship mods that are out there it is actually really more profitable. It used to be if you were evil to make any money you had to be in a colt and take your chances of getting killed, but now you can hop into a modified ship with 250 holds that can hold 100k figs with odds as good as the Iss. Sysops nowadyas are taking every advantage of being good and giving them to evil. In my opnion if a sysop wants to create better ships and make the game more even they need to give a little of the advantage back to the blues, god knows they have so few, they are limited on the amount of money they can make because of the port regen factor which is usually set low so blues can't overpower the game but in reality how can they when a red can set up the sst cycle or ssm cycle and keep going until they bust at every other port in the universe. Reds have the potential for making money not blue, give the poor blue players some of the advantages back. If you feel the need to modify ships(Which does make for a fun and interesting game) then make an even better ship that requieres a commision, mnake the good ships hard to get like give them to aliens so you have to fight for the power and not just make a lot of money and buy it. Turn your portregen rates up a bit 7 day regen rates makes for a game with either no bluees in the end or blues who are like shooting fish in a barrel they don't stand a chance against a seasoned red player... I hjave noticed a uprising or red players in the universe it seems like almost everyoine playing blue now is either a newbie or someone who jus tdoesn't seem to understand the earning potential of the red player.
Oh well thats just what I think about that one...
