Game type: Draft
Team Captians: ?
Game Edits: ?
Host: ?
Ok, so I've heard many of you talking about a draft, so I here by volunteer to put some web work togther for a tourny. I would like replies with the following;
Volunteer's for 1 of the 4 Captian spots
Suggesions for game Edits (edits, turns, etc.)
Volunteer's for hosting duties.
Any other suggestion are welcome, all that I ask is no thread hijacking. Lets keep the post associated with the Draft Armagedon. No talk of WoW, your friends hot mom, etc.
P.S: IF enough intrest builds we will use 4 Captians, sort of a Big Game style. If not, we will decrease captian spots untill we can find an sutiable margin. If you would like to volunteer for a captian spot please post here or just e-mail me;

OK there is too many things going around...TDS trying for there chess type game setup, Supg doing KI edits BYOC game, and Ender with his thingy now. We can't have all three going....so far not a lot of interest in the TDS game yet, I vote we go with the KI game on SUPG, and while that's going on, we try and set up in a few weeks a draft game with three teams rather then four.

Agreed lets get as many corps to supg for KI edits and while that is going on set up the draft game.. i know alot of people want another draft game because IMO they are the most fun and most competitive... so lets get a good game going on supg and that will give us some time to set up a good draft game..

stock edits except for these.
2500 turns
8 planets per sector, 1/2 cit times for all levels.
havoc = to the iss (50 k figs max, no ship holds more except the tholian)
colt has twarp (max holds),3 tpw, holds no torps or dets}
gtorps and dets 35k each
(makes busting up prohibitivly expensive)
no ship holds more then 1 ether probe.
(this is to slow the hunters.)
The tholian is a true guardian defender W/200k figs 16k
shields 80:1 def odds worst possible offensive odds and 20 tpw
AND the tholian cant land on planets.
consider a blue must waste 500k on commish, and that there prolly wont be single aligned corps i think this will make for a fair and interesting game.
this is my 2 cents......
rock and roll brothers and sisters!

WAY too many turns, and 8 planets in a sector??? no way there. Also the probe thing is apart of the game, I would hate to see a ship with only 1 probe. You just have to learn how to defend against Jhereg better <g>

Wow, I kind of feel bad now for TDS. At the time i posted the thread about the SupG bang, I was under the impression (from the TDS thread) that nobody was going to play. Also there wasn't much interest in the draft thread either.
Then Ender posts about the draft. Bang! more activity here in the last 24 hours than the last 2 weeks.
My apoligies to TDS, my intent was not to take away from your game.

Ender smacks himself in the face. Pauses. Smacks himself again. Sighs. Yawns. Cries. Screams.
Well you people get your stuff togther. Decide what you want, and we will follow through there.

We could probably cut everything but the proposed cit times in half (as they are already halved) [:)]

Ender - Will this be run like the last tournament you did? As a player, I have serious reservations about wanting in on a game where the promoter abandoned the last game he did when it was part way through. This isn't meant to cause problems or be smack, but you have to look at this logically. He has no edits, he has no host, he has no captains, and the last game he ran ended in a horrible failure. Does anyone really want to play this?

um. no it don't. it just means that there will be more dock kills. Think about it. Besides, with 2500 turns, that kind of nullifies the effect of making them more expensive. With 2500 turns, in a stock merf, with stock port settings, I could pull in 2.75 mill starting from scratch. 2.75 mill at those prices gets me enough cash to get a red doing about 100 holds. Which is where most peeps start. With 2500 turns of a red doing SST at even 100 holds...well. I've got enough cash to get everything I need.

Won't work either. If probes exist, they will be used, no matter how expensive, no matter the probe delay, or how few you put on ships.
Given a choice between spending 2 turns to look at 1 sector, or 1 turn to look at many....even 12k probes are a steal. And with 2500 turns of red goodness, running full SDT, I can afford to have one of my blues spend the 2500 turns doing nothing but probes, and get about 100% explored on day one.

I'm sorry, I usually don't mock people, but are you joking? 80:1? 17,280,000 figs to kill it? Heh. I assume you meant 8:1. those odds with the 4x multiplier is only 32:1
so it's really only 6,912,000 figs to kill. With an iss thats um...4.6 mill? Now, with 8 planets shooting off cannons at you...

heh, more like waste 70k, or whatever planets and dets cost. Or however many figs it costs to kill a port. Whichever is more convienient at the time.
If you want to slow them down, consider the following settings:
limit atomic dets to ISS only.
no probes on ANY ship.
THAT will slow their asses down.

Harley, I was just thinking about what you said. I spent hours and hours on my Blast Off Tournament. I spent hours organizing prizes, getting edits done, the web site, the bracket, the program to randomize the bracket, everything. Halfway through the tournament my computer went down. I had no way to notify any of you wonderful people of the changes. Computers at school block this web site for "game related content" and every other web site related to trade wars I could find was blocked. I had no access to my e-mail for over a month, etc. etc. I'm not suggesting I host this tournament, I'm not suggesting I run this tournament. But I would be willing to get it organized...
But FYI no, it would not be like the unfourntunate Blast Off tournament fate.

humm ok dont mind getting mocked IF i am wrong, but i am not wrong, Traitor, perhaps you should go to ur twgs, and examine the defensive value potential setting for ships. I did and it runs from 1 - 80, i said 80 so that whoever sets up the game would use the # 80 and not 8 when they configed the ship.
thanks for not mocking me btw. : )

heh. ok. how do you get .5 odds then?
you set it to 5
you have to multiply by .1 to get the actual odds.
Load up your twgs, and you will see a stock colt has a 6 there. now, we all know the colt has 0.6:1 odds. so...
not mocking you now. just trying to help.
