Yeah use the Kick-Butt ship to get in and see what the enemy has. P-Torp through if you can to get to an adjacent sector. I agree with that Harley/Graz. Then use the weaker ships to moth and drain the cannons, after the mines are swept and you used the Kick-Butt ship to see what level the planets are set to fire at. Then when you are on your last pod, use the Kick-Butt ship to invade after your corpies did some mothing as well and are at their last pod. Why SD yourself if you don't have to? By the time you use the kick-butt ship to invade, the planets should be drained.

It makes sense to me and my TW skills are of the newbie/rookie level. I could be wrong though. [:)]

Yea that was my nubby Butt you helped out.

Thank you very much for your help.

But in my defense I’m only a newbielet to the rogue class. :)

WoW is Worlds of Warcraft, IIRC. More addictive than crack, in the same category of addiction as Tradewars. I was smart enough not to start playing it, but my brother plays it most of the day when he is off from work and not sleeping or taking a shower or something. I suggested that he use a bedpan and an IV drip to cut down on the time used for bathroom breaks and eating to play more time in WoW. [:)]

Yeah Graz I recall a LoTR game when you forgot the NavHaz one time after my corp's planet invasion and the NavHaz we left behind for you.

I think you were in a Sauron, one of the kick-butt ships, and then all of a sudden the log showed that Grazhoppa's Sauron was destroyed by Navhaz. Followed by a "Bahahaahahahah" on the Fedcom by you. I think you made some planets to clear some of it out, but still hit the Navhaz. We left 100% Navhaz and I think your ship took a hit as you entered, and then you launched some planets, put most of your figs on one of the planets we left behind, forgot that the Navhaz ate your shields, and when you lifted off, whatever was left got you. You seemed to take it very well, and then later did the "Return the colonists or else" threats on Fedcom. It was a classical game and very funny at times. I am just sorry that I picked the wrong corpmembers for that game. They were highly reconmended by other players, but they recruited a duper when I was offline and when I found out about it I told them to tell him to knock it off. If only we could have played that game out, without the duper, it would have been great. The duper did a great disservice to you.

Anyway the NavHaz incident reminded me of all of that. NavHaz, the gift that keeps on giving. [:)]

Usually I'm happy when I pod myself, I remember one corp war game I fused like 2 loaded ISS's in a row (my fault for not updating figlist) and I thought it was hilarious, nobody else did tho... still got buttloads of kills that day, but... lol, I thought it was funny as all hell..

I don't mind getting blown up by myself, or by someone who has earned it, what I hate is when I die from a 'stupid' mistake... I don't even mind getting blown up by someone who isn't that good, that just had a great oppertunity... ie: I think I'm faster than they are, so I take my chances, and they end up getting the better of me.. to those people I give props.. the ones that I beat, with 1/4 of the resources, are the ones I laugh at :)

but, yeah, that was a good memory orion, tnx :P that duper reallllly ticked me off

Yeah one time I switched to a Patrol Cruiser in a Tradewars Traveller game and I was red, and I went to the Stardock to add things to it. I made the Patrol Cruiser as a commissioned ship and as soon as I got to the Stardock I got podded by one of the Feds. That was funny as well, considering that I made that ship and should have known it was a commisoned ship.

I also did a few blind jumps and got fused. One time with millions of credits on me and a whole decked out ship with all of the trimmings. One time at Alienbase, one of the aliens took over the sector I was trying to Trans-Warp to that one of my planets was at. I knew there was a fig there, but the message that an alien took out the fig didn't register for some reason. Most likely due to some delay or some TWGS bug at the time.

The duper ticked me off to, because the corp members I had lied to me about him, they told me they had nothing to do with him and it was just someone you ticked off. I figured out what was going on after I saw that credits were missing from our planets and this duper was somehow able to get things he couldn't be able to afford. I got really ticked because I was the CEO and they weren't listening to me, following orders, or telling me the truth about things.

hey... here's something I'd like to know if anyone has the answer to, if not, I'll experiment...

scenario:
Blue Capturing blue, but doesn't have enough alignment to capture ship, AND destroy pod, no corpmembers can attack either due to aligment constraints, or cannot be reached, blue being captured is offline/not at keys

now, if I block this monkey into a deadend... and put 100% haz, or mines in the connecting sector, without a fig... will the pod still attempt to flee upon capture of ship? if so, will it hit the haz, mines? or will it float by them? kinda like the invulerability in super mario after you lose a life :)

this question isn't being asked snydely... i'm just wondering for future combat scenarios... could be usefull in a low turn game...

thanks

me

There is no way to make an offline player hit haz, mines, cannons, etc. Additionally, in ship2ship combat, a fleeing pod will never hit things that will do damage. If you're that concerned about going red, you can pod him then just leave figs/mines/haz on top of the pod. Assuming they don't get a rescue, when they log in, their pod will hit it and they'll die. For people who don't have corpies to save them, that's the best way, in my opinion. That way whenever they next enter, they get #SD# and can't enter again until the next day.

Have you considered the option that while your attempting to pod the offline player, you can fire a few waves then upgrade the nearest port to replace the lost align then return to the fray?
repeating as needed till you get the job done.

That I would consider to be a waste of resources.. Generally this would be happening on day 1 or 2, as described above, this is a low turn game...

I would rather not waste cash on a useless alignment upgrade via port, thanks for the option though

Personally, I don't care about going red. It's easy enough to fix the next time my reds are online. After a few days in a game, I find it advantagous to have a red leave personals somewhere for fixes on the fly. If the kill is worth taking, it's worth going red over most of the time.

If the TPW of the ship is good enough and ftrs are expensive it's sometimes cheaper to make a pass back over stardock and re-commish that way.
