It was made long before this discussion was brought up. I'm just glad he didn't go into detail about what caused it. We've tested it since and found out that it does in fact cause server crash 100% of the time. http://hyperspace.forums1.net/t94-what- ... ersion-103

We all can finally see just how much you appreciate us buying your buggy software and keeping this game alive for so long. You're jumping to a false conclusion here, BigD. I have nothing but respect for any customer who has purchased my software. I have respect for players who have participated in the development of this game by helping me to find and fix bugs. What I have zero respect for is players who have never purchased the software and who are aware of bugs but refusing to report them, and yet seem to feel that they own this game and that they have some control over it. You once had my respect as a registered gameop. You sold your registration code (which is something I normally don't allow but did for you as a favor), so now you're just one more whining, complaining user who won't even support the game with bug reports. If you know of bugs and you not only refuse to report them, you threaten to use them against anyone who runs my software, not only do you NOT have my respect, you are not welcome on this site, and you are not welcome to be a user of the software. Why don't you go harass someone else for a change? If you can't contribute anything positive, if in fact you clearly state that you are out to crash legitimate gameop's servers and harass my actual customers, why would you expect to be respected or welcome? You and your crew over there lost my respect when you started hoarding bugs for your personal use, not reporting them, but using them to convince others that the software is too buggy so they'll go back and use the version you want them to run. That's why I have lost respect for you and the others at your site. That is why Kewlbreeze was banned. That is why you will be banned if you continue to hoard bugs and refuse to report them. There's no reason to have anyone at this site who is so antagonistic toward this game. How could you possibly expect any different treatment? You guys are not supportive of my efforts. Don't cry foul like you're somehow being mistreated. You can spout whatever lies you want in your own forum, but in here, it's pretty obvious what's up.

 Re: Let's get graphical!
Heres a few facts that should ease your mind.
1) I do not know of any bugs in your software. 2) I will not be playing your new software or be associated with it in anyway. 3) Silver Wings TWGS will soon be a gift to Toyman. 4) This is my last post in this forum. 5) Good luck.

Lie or misinformation to tweak someone with? I've been taking it as misinformation to get a response primarily from Helix, and secondly from yourself. I think most of the "unreported bugs" are pure misinformation to get responses. The problem is it spooks Ops that want a stable server for the players, and players in regard to playing on a server that might have an unknown bug that woud be used against them. Either way, it slows testing in the wild.

 Re: Let's get graphical!
Right, and is a direct attack on me and my efforts. Having a disagreement with me is one thing, but actively working against TradeWars development and disrupting my customers is going too far. Whether there's any truth to the claims or not, I take it seriously.
As of now, I haven't banned Big D. But I did ban Kewlbreeze after he bragged about finding a "long list" of bugs but refused to report them.
There are bugs in the game. There are new bugs that came out of the new features I've added since 2.08. If they're reported, I'll fix them. That's all I can do, and that's more than I did for about 6 years. But to, on the one hand, bash me for not fixing them, while on the other refusing to report them, that's just lame.
Lies or misinformation, either way I have no tolerance for it.

Lies or misinformation, either way I have no tolerance for it. It is virtually impossible to have a bug free piece of software as complex as the TradeWars Game. Totally impossible if players do not report bugs to the developer (who, naturally, will miss some bugs, having written the code with the intention of avoiding them, and does'nt see the ones that slip by). I have nothing but contempt for players who know of bugs in The Game and decline to report them to JP. Particularly those who claim to have been playing since the original Big Bang. It amuses me that they are bent out of shape at the thought that there might be a version of TW where their twixie pixy wixie scwiptsies wont worksie worksie. They can play the current version until hell freezes over, what is their problem? I can only imagine that they are afraid that they will cease to be TW Gods if the new version brings back the tens of thousands of players we used have, and hopefully as many more new ones.
