laff you know what i think is funny? people who think thier ping times actually mean something in a strategy turn based game.... no seriously you can say whatever you want about UTW or Sage ...I think he's done a fine job and will continue to do so.
ROTFLOL. RANT TIME!
1. Zark, stop crying about your dang ping... I'm sure you can find a better excuse for your losses. How about just moving some place within the 21st century? Maybe you should CBY and find a better place to live?
2. SG, there are actually people out there that know how to use scripts. Or at least there used to be. For those people ping can mean a lot. Sure if you want to slow the game down to avoid moving planets you might be able to survive long enough to force a stalemate, but if we stop dumbing it down like that... ping can be important during attacking, cashing, gridding and oh... yea, most everything else. Granted if the other team is smart enough they can adjust and beat your ping, but let's face it... most ppl these days aren't that smart, so it becomes the lowest common denominator of TradeWars. TW has a tactical side too.
3. As for Sage. It's his server, he pays the bills, he calls the shots. Do I think he's a "good sysop" ? eh... I've known better. It could be argued that sysops are a leader in the community, and that the best sysops understand that. Polymorphic virus anyone? Heh. But hey the lowest common denominator sells so why not, eh?
