Since we are clearing the air about Zentock's qualifications, I would like to tell why I didn't want to corp with him the the last scheduled (but not played) draft game. He was in Stockton's corp in CW2. I didn't chat with him much until the last of the game in so far as Stockton's corp was conserned. After that came the BYOC game where one hour before game started my CEO, Storm Rider, decided to withdraw leaving all of his corpies out in the cold. Well, Zentock took up the CEO position and we were in the game 1 hour after the game started. At that time, I had been chatting with a new player by the name of Singularity. He had missed the draft game since he wasn't a user on EIS forum when the draft was still open. We were short handed so I brought him into the corp since that was the first big game he was ever in. As a blue, I was sitting at Terra for most of that night but saw on ss Zentock do a strange thing. He told Sing to blind warp. Sing objected at first but later was persuaded to do that. As a tribute to the good judgment of Zentock, Sing didn't pod. I started to respect his judgement after that. But later something happened that changed my mind: First, I saw on ss Zentock ask where his corpies were. I ICQed my protoge Sing. "Something isn't right here" I said, and I showed him the ss message from Zentock asking where corpies were. "You can find that out by doing ta. Doesn't Zentock know that?", I said. Then I learned from him that Zentock, the CEO, asked Singularity, a noob that I brought into the game, how to get from Terra to dock when there were figs along the path---in other words, how to lawnmow. I learned that in Corp Wars 2 draft game as my first lesson. Zentock was in Stockton's corp too and surely had to lawnmow yet he didn't seem to know how to get to dock when figs were blocking the path.
Since:
1. We were late getting into the game and therefore behind the other corps in cashing,
2. We were still short handed as Mind Dagger or Killroy had to drop (don't remember which),
3. My CEO was telling us to do strange things and didn't seem to know some basics of the game,
I made my appologies to Sing for inviting him into a corp whose CEO was bonkers and cbyed and left the game.

Now.
I'm not going to get into what Zen told me in a personal conversation when I phoned him after the game. I'll pretend he didn't say what he did and forget it.

But.
He has shown an abliity on Vulcan's forum of knowing the game as he says he does. So now, I'm mostly curious as to how he didn't seem to know some of the basics in the BYOC game whereas he seems to have been a guru at Vulcan's forum this last month or so and has posted a concise explanation here about mothing. Maybe he just has some holes in his education...Dono. Mostly confused right now.

The reason that it seemed to Zentock that 16 mins past from the time the post was made, is cause the time difference on the forum is way off.

Let us just agree to disagree then. On EIS Forums moderators come and go anyway. What is the point of playing when bigbang will be run and everything in the universe will be lost to create a new universe?

As to my seemingly stupid questions on ss, its far more easy to get an idea what players know by asking questions then to tell them how to do this or that. When i get satisfactory answers i can drop there skill reservations from my mind and go on to other things.
My teaching style is more of of letting the player piece together
the answer from the questions i ask. or from the partial answers i give. A question solved thru the thought processes of the questioner is one way less likely to be forgoten then an answer just blurted out.

I am sorry if it ruined your gameing experiance.

In the 3 or more years I have been a moderator for EIS, I have never received any sort of pay. This is a strictly volunteer basis. As such, I personally take offense at those people who expect me or any other moderator to be at their beck and call.
