To answer your 1st question, this thread and many others have had comments about eliminating scripting that you've agreed with. That really doesn't have to be proven because it's on record. As far as the second question, just to name one thing that isn't optional is the Alien behavior changes that were made. Aliens behavior is much different than it was in v1. I personally don't put aliens in my edits, but some players prefer them.

What changed my mind? Well, your reply to Orion was uncalled for. Banning Kewlbreeze and Farley and who know who else was just a personal vendetta on your part. I'm sure I'll be the next one banned, which it's really not that important to me whether I am or not because I can get my point across fine in other forums and over ICQ.
Basically the decision is up to you. I've stated how I feel and that I think you are making dire mistakes when it comes to dealing with the current player base.
The post where you stated that the current player base is not that important was also one of the things that really got me PO'd. It's not Farley or Kewlbreeze running off your customers.

You see, that's where you are wrong. Because we don't have to turn back the clock to play our style of play, we can just choose to play on servers that don't upgrade. Pretty simple eh?

Oh I think there will be more than 10. I'm pretty sure we'll have enough for the next major tournament that will be played on a server running the previous version. LAFF

What's hilarious is that v1.03 is more buggy than the current version, which does have a few bugs, but nothing that can't be easily fixed. But v1.03 won't ever be fixed. The latest version has everything that v1.03 has and a lot more, has fewer bugs, and is more efficient. Oh, and it's free to upgrade and cheaper to register for most server sizes.

The only justification for going back to v1.03 is that you're PO'd. I really don't think it's because aliens actually do what they were designed to do now, if configured to do so. Is it really a problem that an alien will attack a fighter when the setting clearly states that it will, but a bug kept it from doing so until recently? Do you want to see bugs get fixed or not? If not, then v1.03 is perfect for you. But you should know there are ways to cripple v1.03 sites. In my efforts to stabilize the server for v2, I discovered many ways to crash the server. And I've heard many reports from others. You can ignore the very real improvements of v2 over v1.03, but they do exist.

Something tells me we'll see plenty of Ground Zero and Kraaken on TWGS v2 sites. Just like we seem to see a lot of BigD after he announced he was leaving the TW scene.

And we've found a bug in v2 that will completely crash a server EVERY time it is done. I hope you have beta testers that can find it.
BTW. I'm not PO'd about the new version. I'm PO'd at your lack of respect for the current player base. We all can finally see just how much you appreciate us buying your buggy software and keeping this game alive for so long.

I don't know. Maybe I'll log into your server to test this bug. It might take several tries to be sure that it crashes the server every time.
100 out of 100 attempts would be 100% wouldn't it? lol
