Danny Cannon I never met as Kane but have to toss my 2 cents in at this point. If I ever met him in person it seems I could ask him the question "Have you seen the Eagle"?

I certainly would want to know if anyone using the names Gypsy, Mad Hatter, Cherokee and a couple more were the same ones who helped build the game MANY years back and were the same players who posted Manuals, tips, cheats, mods and more during the dialup BBS days before JP did the incredible job of coding TWGS to the point where we currently are!

I think he actually deleted the account and changed Doom's name to Kane.

That makes no sense to alienate a contributing member of the community so that someone who doesn't even use the forums can have his name back. If he abandoned his account and it became inactive, the admins should be able to delete it.

Like I was saying before, those were people that actually contributed to the forum. You seem to be the only one that has ever heard of this other Kane. What was the need to get his account back anyway? I havent seen any posts from him at all.

I imagine you have paid money into the Social Security system recently. I also imagine you use your social security number as identification or to apply for credit every now and then. I dont see how that relates to a free forum account. I would liken it more to a free hotmail account. You dont use it for a certain number of days and it gets deleted so that someone who actually has a need for it can use it.

Got to agree with you Godzilla...folks who have been here before and have been part of this forum/platform should be able to keep the names they originally had else we are facing the issue of 'revisionism' regarding our history in the game.   Just because someone has been absent for awhile is a lame excuse for someone taking their alias and changing our history. Hmmm...maybe I should ask for my alias to be changed to Oz, Xide, TheFounder, Kemper3 or a few others since they not been around for awhile?

It's nice to know someone cares about the history of TW.
seems these days most of the players are NEW kids on the block, they talk a good game, but was not there in the good 'ol Days. and are just out for themselfs and can care less about history and the commuinty.

After reading this entire thread, my take on this situation is this:
Zentock is as much to blame as Doomed is for this.  The account should have never been deleted even though it wasn't used.  I will admit that Zen did the right thing in correcting it by giving the real Kane his original account back and changing Doomed's name.  Doomed's name should have went back to what he originally started with tho, which I assume was Doomed.   Also when it was changed back, Doomed should have been informend by Zentock.  However, this is a no harm no foul event since the problem was fixed and is no longer an issue.
I do have one question tho.  Who is it I have on ICQ as Kane?  Is it the original Kane or Doomed?   

To answer you D, the ICQ Kane is Doomed? or some one elese, its not the Kane that got his accound deleted.
