As Far as i know and as far as I am concerned  EIS will hold the awards for as long as it cares to...What right does it have?
EIS owns / sells  TWGS software.
But whats to stop slim from having his own awards??? EleQ did it..... Mana gave out awards too.....

It really doesn't matter who hosts the awards. The legitimacy <sp>, if we can call it that, is bestowed by the users. It doesn't matter if it is EIS and is "official" or if it is by a player that wants to hold an awards vote.

The "10th Annual" as I have said before implies continuity and there is none - either by category or by host. These awards should be: "The 1st Annual ClassicTW.com TradeWars Awards". No history, no baggage.

Prom, quick question- how could last year's awards have been the "9th Annual" using your assertion on continuity?
They have been hosted at different sites and by different people since its inception. Categories for awards evolve with time as well.

I do see how calling these awards the 1st annual ClassicTW awards would make sense, but then if someone else does awards, it could go one of two ways: like the Golden Globes and the Oscars, or like the USA Today poll and the AP poll (College football). While these references seem a little tenuous, if there are more than one set of awards, we might end up with something like a BCS to solve things (which only makes things worse if you hate the BCS) or if people can adopt both, they will be seen as separate but equally important.

You've raised a good point, but can you also see where they could be seen as the 10th Annual awards as well?

To be annual awards means to be the same, and over all through the years they have been changed a little but not much. Then when Zen decided in his brilliance to have eis put them on, he Changed every part of the awards, every category, So how could u call that the 10th annual awards? Just not right, But then again we are dealing with the all WISE admin who Thinks he knows Everything. Hmmm maby thats why his corp was the second to go out of 6... hmmm I not surprised...

Oso, I will agree that the awards can be called anything and 10th annual is one of them. The catagories evolve, and evolution is the key I believe. Evolution to me means a gradual change with improvements over time.

This seems to be the first time that an "official" awards vote has been given, not one that was provided by a player in an unofficial capacity (I am assuming they were all unofficial).
