Wasn’t the poll for Sing, Most Improved Player? There is nothing wrong with listing him under that. I think he is deserving of that title. Obviously, K3 would be the prime choice for Best Overall Player. Honestly, I was wondering why some other the others Speed mentioned were not listed on any of the polls though.

Welp, I must say... that I for one do not think I deserve or have earned Best Support Player. Yes I am great now! lol JK I have gotten better, but there are much much better out there. and yes I learned alot not only from SD but many others in CW2 and along the way. and I DID play in half of 04, all of 2005 and so far all of 2006.
I also am not a fed com trash talker and I hate farming [:(], Stockton can have it. LOL
But I do thank the folks here for even recognizing me in any way. [:P]

I did mean to imply that if I voted based on what I hear and not what I have seen with my
own eyes, then you surely would not get my votes. <G>
2) I have supported these awards from the time I came on the scene but every year there has been some sort of flaw. Stockton points one out in saying that there are different skill levels and block voting can most certainly affect the results. I once suggested that there be a mvp for the large games where every player in the game has one vote. Some of us are honest enough that we'd vote for someone who played on an opposing corp if they showed themselves to be the best and I think that would be a fair recognition.
maggie
We kinda did on 1 big game but it was only our corp that did it and Speed Demon got it hands down.... But I would luv to see more of that type of voting for the big games, have an mvp

I agree with Speed on most of what he said and all, some of the players haven't really played in 05 and some have played their hearts out, and it does seem like a popularity contest on the nominations, and a rivalry nominations between two distinct clicks of players EIS (us) and Ultimate TW (them), it seems to me like we and they are voting on popular players to the perspective groups, but with one difference, most of the players nominated by the EIS crowd plays on multiple servers, and has votes from players from those servers, with that in mind, I noticed that the players nominated from the Ultimate crowd usually play there, what's up with that?
And it seems like the nominations and voting seems to be lets vote for who plays our place, to make us look like we are better. Jeez, this is like a soap opera, Laff.
I nominated for who I honestly deserved the nominations and voted the same, even if it was a mix of the two crowds, hehe.
I may have shot my reputation with this post, but I have to speak my mind on this, and sorry if I offended anyone, but me as a sysop and as a player( although very rusty at gameplay) I have to go with my heart and mind on who honestly deserves what they got.
Sysops and players, may not notice this, but I really observe things that happen in the community, and especially how players play and act on my server, sometimes I stay up really late reading the game logs to get some insight on how to improve my playing, and have contacted some of the better players to help me learn again.
So I pay attention on who really deserves what they got and went with it. Like I said, I am sorry if I offended anyone with my post and observations.

There are basically a few types of players in the game IMHO. Those who play truces and those who want heads-up play from the moment the game bangs. There are variations to the two types: turn base and unlimited and still variations to that in solo vs corp play.
Players who play certain types of games, or specialize in specific edits, rarely see other players who prefer other types of game play. These players will be biased toward the players in their specific arena of play and naturally so because that is what they base their "quality" of play on. It appears that players would vote based on what they see in their games. The old adage of big fish/little pond comes to mind. As I have noted before, I considered myself a good player back in the day in my own little pond -- then I found the Internet and some guy named Kemper3 - then a shiny new pod and a second later "poof".
This could deteriorate <sp> into a negative discussion very quickly. The main thing, in my opinion, is to view the nominations and make a vote. Kind of like politics, we will never agree completely on the outcome or the "hanging chads" so get on with it and then get over it.

Thanks Prome, you summed it up pretty well, and I hope this will not degenerate into a negative discussion. Jeez, all this over who to vote for, laff.
But really i hope all do turn out to vote, and hope all have fun voting, I had fun voting myself, the funny thing is I really didn't vote for me on anything, I went with what I thought was right and fair. Go figure.

I agree that the Awards should be opened for nominations in December and then the voting takes place in January...that would resolve the issue of current players being nominated for last year. There is another issue that bothers me a bit more outside the area on players.
In several categories such as 'Best Red Script', 'Best Blue Script' and a couple more TWX was nominated and is getting major votes. As I understand TWX it is a 'SHELL' coded to support 'SCRIPTS' regardless of which 'HELPER' you are using. In this sense TWX might fit in the category of 'HELPER' but seems to be in a category by itself. To me 'HELPER' includes ATTAC, ZOC, SWATH, JTWAT and many others.... Many 'SCRIPTS' can run at the same time in the background while running TWX so I feel TWX fails to qualify as a script as in yet another category named 'Best Helper Gameplay'. This leads to disqualifying TWX as 'Best Red Script', 'Best Blue Script', 'Best Helper Gameplay' in future awards.
A new category for next year might be 'Best Bot' since so many folks are using them now and were not really an issue when the Awards were established.
One of the things I missed this year was the ability to post comments about reasons for nominating someone or another category and maybe Gypsy could help out with how he did that for the next one.
Thanks to everyone who participated and special thanks to Vulcan and Ender!

I had a question about two of the listed helpers, I have never heard of either and have not found any info about either of them: Noble House Helper and TW Helper 9.0 GUI.
