Hi all. I'm one of the newbies Crosby was talking about. The two of us and a third newby are sharing the info we learn. We are dominating in a quiet game with less than 10 players so we are making progress UP the learning curve. One thing you will learn about the three of us, if you run into us in a game, is that we have no pretense that we are better players than we actually are. I would love to team up with a vet temporarily to leanr how to be a better player. My long range plan is to carry that info over to my other two corpies as we've sort of agreed to be a perma-corp. What would be ideal is if someone, a vet, was willing to take all three of us into a training corp and teach us all together so we could immediately begin training as a team. Speaking for myself, and I'll take the liberty to speak for my two new corpies as well, is that we are here for the long haul! If it takes me 6 months to a year to become a strong player, then I'm willing to do it. This game is very addictive, lol. And I don't have an ego problem with getting podded when I do something stupid. That's how I've been learning to get get "unstupid". Anyways, Big-D, I think what you are doing is fantastic, and if it isn't too late and your willing, would you be interested, or anyone else for that matter, of training a new perma-corp???

I am sure one of the trainers will corp with you to show you the ropes. I am really booked heavy at this time to take on a new game, as I'm sure some of the other trainers are, but never hurts to ask them. ICQ #'s are listed on the website.

hit me up on icq and I will show u the ropes. I have no problem giving some newbs some advice and teach them, all though I wouldn't consider myself a vet, but just an expierienced player... Oh and I only do low turn games...

I was once a Newbie....I think we all were...The best advice i can give a new player is play as much as you can and find your nitch in the game.....be it hunter, farmer or a red...and practice at that...then when a good corp has an opening.....u might squeeze your way in....that is how it happened to me...be loyal, run your turns and show up on time (real life permitting). The big game is fixxing to bang and this a good time to show your stuff...So sign up now..
but the main ingredient to this game is to have fun...when this game stops to be fun...i will stop playing.

Thx for the invites. Baited, I think one of my corpies already made some sort of arrangment with Piath (sp?), to train all three of us together. I do appreciate the offer and if this falls through I will hit you up on ICQ. (Which is another program I need to dload and learn to use. Used it years ago.) I must say I was surprised to receive any offer at all and now I am swamped with them. I really appreciate that. It shows the quality of character this forum has. Thx!

I think that was what killed it for me, back in the day ('93-'96). Too much politics, to many whiners and it stopped being fun.
Great to see TW is still alive and killin'. It is TradeWARS after all.
I'm still working through my old kinks, and playing solo games for now.
I would like to play in an active game, in an active corp if the sets aren't too insane. I'm a pretty good mapper and locater (I gotta work out my attack/capture scripts though). Furbing and coloing bores me to tears...but it's part o' the game, so u do what'cha gotta do. =P

I've almost always got a spot open, hit me up on icq, my spots don't stay open for too long, someone is always chomping at the bit for it!

Tried it. It didn't work. My ICQ is: 200-859-055
I mostly play turn games. 1.5k or better. 5k turn games I prefer. Unlimited games I can only play limitedly.
