I thought this profane stuff was out of bounds. Or mabey that was EIS crying "wolf"?
As long as they don't try to circumvent the word filter it may be ok to have a censored swear word:

Apparently the swear word filter does not apply to subject lines of a message. [:)]
Just try to keep personal attacks out of the posts, and attack the issue instead, I think.
Butt is not in the filter list... if people type normally they don't have to worry about what words are appropriate as the forum will filter what we think is vulgar and offensive, the filter will be reworked so that it no longer uses
*'s and will include common phases that we feel are offensive even when censored. Once its complete the filtering system will simply add a space for anything it filters out and when this is in place it will be retro-effective or meaning that it will filter all posts in the database as they are displayed.
Technically no one under 13 is suppose to be using these forums, but the reality is that kids do end up in here and some of the stuff they are seeing here is just way out of line. While I am sure they see and hear it else where, we have had numerous complaints in the past 6 months about the vulgarity of the Smack Talk area and it was obvious that a more defined usage was needed. The fact of the matter is this is really only being abused by a few individuals but as is the case with many things in life the few bad have caused changes for everyone. We still want an area where our members can post and engage in spirited debate, good natured ribbing, opinions and even reports of unethical play about both SysOps / GameOps and players.
As I said before just don't attempt to circumvent the filtering system, and if you are trying to circumvent it then its a pretty good case that not only did you know it was an inappropriate post, but intentional disregard for the usage of these forums. If you think a topic or post is borderline contact an Admin and ask them, and wait for a reply or lighten your content to where you feel it is no longer offensive. If we remove a post that is deemed inappropriate we will contact the author via PM and explain why, if the person who's post is deleted doesn't receive a PM then they should contact me immediately
Well remember that the forums are searchable by Google and other search engines. A 13 year old or younger might search for something and view one of the EIS Forum posts.
I had an idea of a swearword filter that used "smeg" or "smurf" to replace certain bad words to make the poster look silly. [;)] Or the Id10t filter that replaced bad words with silly words that make no sense and have no connection to the bad words. Or a FarScape filter, using FarScape swear words instead of the actual ones, like Drannit, etc. More interesting than the asterisk replacements. Ah well, just having fun with my ideas.
