There are plenty of TWGS operators who never touch TEDIT other than to make game edits -prior- to opening of the game, or to change edits at regular intervals (usually these changes and the date of changes, such as photon wave duration are posted on the server website, in game announcements, etc).

If you're looking for a grudge match style game, I've always welcomed such games on my server. In fact, grudge matches and solo shootouts is pretty much all I do these days.

As for using TEDIT, I don't. In fact, I often go for weeks at a time without ever clicking on my pretty little TWGS system tray icon. Heck, I don't even have a keyboard, monitor or mouse hooked up to my TWGS server. ;o)

Very true. Consider it a feeble effort at making a point. In my opinion there are very few good reasons and numerous bad reasons why a sysop would ever need to utilize TEDIT after the game begins. In general, I've always made it policy to basically ignore my server aside from dupechecking. Other than that, my server is the least of my concerns. Who's playing, who's winning, and who's getting beat down are of no concern to me. It runs, I let it run, and I stay as uninvolved in running it as is possible.

Hehe.. I always like hearing what you have to say Rave. -;) .. I would love to get involved on some type of grudge match one day on your server. Trust me I know all the bad things that come if you try and involve yourself in a game that you have tedit access on. And after a few trial runs of my unlimited game yeah it is best that I just bang it and let it run. I admit I was wrong for trying to control a game that was never ment to have those types of controls. I.E. No Attack Rules / No Newb Killing etc. If the game can't run by itself there is no point in playing in it. But I do feel having the trial runs set up how I had them gave me a lot of ideas for "Personal Touches" and I'm really happy how the game has come out over all.

That's great! When it comes to setting up and running a server, and even moreso when it comes to creating a very balanced yet heavily edited game, I think most sysops/gameops learn through an early period of trial and error.

Having said this, running a server is no different from playing the game. There is no single correct way to play the game, and the same can be said for running a server. What works for one sysop may not work for another. If every server were the same and every game were the same then the game just wouldn't be the same. A lot can be said for putting your own personal touches not only on your server, but to any games you run on it as well.

No i'm not spectacular, I think you are taking my post a little too seriously.. all in good fun. I know you're better than I am. I actually started in turns and went to unlims lately to learn how to kill and work on scripts. I do also honestly believe unlims take less time to play which is good for me these days...

well just shows me and you dont play turns the same way... and you just need better scripts that will run all night and day during the no attack.. don't take so much time then.

I was around long enough to kill 2 of your corp mates.. and the good thing about getting killed is you learn from your mistakes. No matter though.. bc and loki did very nicely just the 2 of them in cleaning up the rest of you guys. To me it actually only makes your whole corp look even worse to be beaten by 2 instead of 3 guys.

Haha no attack.. OK if you put a rule on the game like that the game then Requires a sysop to watch over his game and utilize tedit. SO any game that has a no attack rule also has a sysop using Tedit. Now I know you Survey of all people are not going to defend a sysops use of tedit. and if you even try its just going to make you look stupid.. -;) so in the end you really didn't win any sort of game The sysop used TEDIT in that game so doesn't matter who won or lost once the sysop used tedit it was all just for fun.. I can name at least one time I ran accross you guys (loki) stuck on my figs with a limpet attached in a colt now in any REAL game without a sysop watching over it with his Tedit Powers I would have just killed him on the spot. but if you must play on your server with your cheating sysop and defend him thats going to make you look just as bad as him. (I think it was you that pointed all this out to me in the first place).

I don't agree with the tedit, thats why i wanted to quit dumass. But you insisted I play and you would not vote to shut down the game like me. And now yuo are saying it wasn't a real game just like I said you would. Only reason I play on that server is because it is fast and I like the edits. If he would take away the 24 hour attack rule I would be the happiest person on that server, but you can't have everything. I've never seen anything close to what happened last week int he previous games on that server, it was just a lot of immature people trying to ruin everyone's fun. I was ready to walk away, but you didn't want to... so you still got your Butt handed to you and now you make excuses. I'd invite you to another game without an attcak rule but don't want to have to go through this exact same scenario again. don't bother playing with me anymore cause I know you're type and i know you will never admit we beat you fair and square, which makes you a complete waste of time.

Dude I'm not attacking you or the fact that you guys won the game hell yeah you (or rather BC and Loki) did we are all dead and the game is over for us it was a fun game and yeah everyone makes mistakes in a game. Maybe some day I'll WASTE my time again and jump into an unlim so i can try to get the chance to kill you. Thats the only reason I cared wether it continued or not. But if your buddy sysop is handing out to whining newbs that he doesn't even know whats he handing out to his buddies? and how do i know who is buddies are?And yes I'm glad you don't like me and find me a complete waste of time. -;) I'd even log into another of those unlims and let you kill me if it would make you feel better about the whole ordeal.
