Keep in mind this is a WAR game and "trading game" is NOT it's original intent. trading is just how you get to the point of being able to war.

You might consider just making a new game and calling it "farmplanets". So you can drop the tradeWARS and play a pretty picture game on FB.

So if you are tiring to limit your self for all time in a game that you don’t want the rest of us to play why are you asking us? As it is we are not limited, what makes you think we want to be?

That list of routines could get rather large. Considering you would need routines to accommodate both those playing red and those playing blue. Would you have the ability to switch from one to the other?

No need to be limited. Just write a script to help you.

Again, you are getting much too caught up in the details of how and what platform. I never said he had any ideas of making a TW for facebook, I did mention an article I read that stated that Millions of people play farm town. If that many people are willing to waste that much time on a game like farm town then they may be hungry for a strategy game like TW.

Only today’s game is less about strategy and more about which script you’re going to use.

Forget platforms, forget facebook.

IF we had a game with built in scripts or routines, what would they be?

If you were limited for all time to this one set of routines, what are your “must haves”?

And let’s keep in mind that this is a space trading game, and try to keep the game as close to its “original” intent as much as possible.

I have about 800 or so scripts, and use probably 20-25 of them for most game play. I have a lot of scripts in that mix for specific purposes, and a lot of scripts that I have collected over the years as examples. The "must have" depends on the game situation at hand and what the other traders are trying to do. The nice thing about TW is that it is ever changing based on what the players are doing because they are thinking "out of the box" (and sometimes way out). The players are not limited to run script "A" get result "B".

And manual players even more unpredicable.

OK so now we're getting somewhere. What are the 20-25 or so basic play scripts that you use?

Again, this is all just imagineering a game that does not allow player scripts, not designed FOR you guys, but designed for the general population.

Yes, we would need red and blue scripts. What would you concider your basic scripts?

The basic script types I use are listed below, and their usage is based on the edit and other players I am against:

Ptorp: 7 scripts
Grid: 4 scripts
Colo: 1 script with multiple options
Cash: 3 wSST scripts, 1 SDT, 1 SST, 1 SSM, 1 ppt
Fed Attack: 3 scripts
Huntdown: 2 scripts
ZTM: 1 script
Mover: 1 script
Fueler: 1 script
Datamining: 3 scripts + proAssetCheck
Base Defense: 2 scripts + speciality scripts also
pDrop: 4 scripts
monitor: 2 scripts

Ah, probably not, but those are basic to most players in regard to script types. I don't know very many players that don't have versions of those - at least players that live through the first day. ;)

I know we're playing the same game, but I'm going to need translation on some of these! LOL

I would suggest joining a corp and have them teach you the game basics as we play this game today.

The game "WAS" in perfect balance with a slight edge to the gridder.

Grid protection has always been slightly behind. Which allowed the game to end at some point.

If grid protection was ahead of gridding technology then the games would always stalemate.

The basic scripts that Prom mentions are a basic grid/grid protection/cash and planet fueler mix for the unlim players.

World red cashing (blue cashing is moot in unlims)

WSST (World sst) is the basic red casher in unlins as it make more cash/hour then any other method
WSSM (World ssm) for edits where transport range is short in the ship available to the early player.
2_WorldTrade in speed mode to get cash to bust up if needed.
Photon scripts are worthless except in solo games.
Twarp gridder for gridding (there are several types)
MOWER for moving (we dont tyoe in sector # anymore)

These are some of the basics needed.

PRivate scripts are not needed.

MOMBOT/CK's PACKS/SUPG's/LOnestar's/ALexio's/Rammr's public scripts are all that is needed to win a game today. ALL FREE. TWX is FREE . REVBOT is free.

The new or returning player has all the FREE stuff he needs to play.
I use SWATH and have gotten my 25 bucks out of it many times over.
Unlike Microsoft. Stein doesnt charge for upgrades.
