If you ran into a level 3 or 4 you would have been ppting in a pod pretty quick. To me it wasn't worth the chance. The only purpose to removing them was "certain player/sysops" don't know how to mow.
So you and Solo will have the game to yourselves.

Yea I got lucky in that the first planet I came across was weak and had like 15m credits on it. So I was able to get a good ship and cap the other planets with relative ease.

lol oh and I like how you neglected to quote the part where I said I agreed with you guys and that the edit needs a lot of work. That doesn't mean I'll be sitting there playing it against no one but the sysop. I just think his was an interesting idea that may still work out if he does what he needs to like listen to the players and play in other games.

I agree he has a good idea or I would not waste my time.
Subzero over and over is boring.
Any new type game would be interesting but it should be playable.

He has set up a trophy planet game but he thinks it should last a year.

I don't see that happening. The only games that last a year or more are building games with high planets per sector vs corp size. This discourages invasions. And prevents online invasions almost completely.

Yop seems to be messing with settings without knowing how it will effect things.

Leaving Photon Duration @ 20 seconds then stripping photons off ALL the ships proves this.

I don't think it was his intent to create a Trophy Planet game which could have been done with a simple script. He has spent a considerable amount of time and effort to model the Star Wars universe in a Tradewars game. It is understandable that he want's the game to last for more than 3 days. While I agree that a year would be too long, perhaps a game that lasts several months would appeal to more people. Can we do surveys in these forums? That would be a good question for the masses.

Are you sure that ALL ships have photons disabled? or is it only the ships available at stardock? It's not a new concept to have special alien ships to go after. If that is the case then leaving the photon duration at 20 seconds would be a valid setting.

I've been playing the current bang and haven't had any problems invading planets without photons. I started with a second junk ship to enter the sector to test for defenses. After capping a few low level planets I was able to get into a nice ship and get it maxed out. With all the free figs and cash on the L0 and L1 planets a few cannon blasts are nothing.

I'm happy to see that there is an interest to my edit. And as I said last days, my intent is to create a new twa files that will make the game better for you. I don't have at 100% of knowledge of how's working all the options G and H.. but as Scrat said my intent wasn't to create something that exist already. My intent it was a SW edit with a particular way to play. But I'm understanding that you, old tw2002 fan with more knowledge on the subject and tw's skills, that you think you should spend more time to play to a real competition... To me, the real competition is to live 60 minutes after the truce against you and your corpies... If you know what I mean... So I design this for those aren't at your level of scripts and tw's skills.

But, never mind, I'm happy to make it better for you and have some players that want to play this edit that I spent a lot of times (on my computer, on papers and in my mind) for building something new with more than 3 aliens, 2-3 planets, 20000 sectors and nothing more than a couple of new ships... If my edit isn't play, it's like that I throw to the garbage 200 days of 3 to 8 hours by day... I wasn't a scripter when I begin. I became a scripter. And I know there so many others things that we can do just with TWX... But, when I will be more a player than a sysop, maybe I will discover them and upgrade my rank in the player categories...

If you entered a sector with a level 3 or 4 with cannons on maybe you would feel differently. As it is you got lucky.
