And a person who did no work at all is now running the universe. Is that really fair to everyone that was playing that game? its such a low thing to do.

I agree with you godzilla and I'm glad you see the sysops point also, like I said I see both points also, again I'm not a player I suck at playing I don't plan to play, but I love the game and love people to come to my server and be happy, I think I do pretty well as a sysop, then again you never know. I believe that is how the game is played however I don't want to lose all of my players because of one person that I can more then easily lose.

Godzilla if you like servers with sysops that like to BS then drop on by. maybe you can do me some good on feedback for my capture the flag turny which by the way Vader is helping greatly on.

This is not something that happens to often anymore its one bad apple who likes to play with themselves more then being part of a team the best thing to do when this happens is to spread the word on who the player is and or the get the other corps in the game to gang up the player. The last thing I think about is if the player is going to take all my stuff when I let them on my corp. in other words I trust everyone till they have done me wrong if they do clam everything privet I say have fun playing with yourself and don’t expect me to ever corp. with you again. After that I would probably put together the best corp. I could find and get back into the game and kick the holy crap out him. To me this is not something that affects the reputation of the server but just that player. I’m sure this could happen on any server from Black Sun to Ahab’s. This person will find out sooner or later that the only thing they did was make other people not want to play the game with them. But on another note this player is probably just passing thru and I doubt anyone will ever see the person playing again.

Ok, I'll add some more to my thoughts. Would I repair the damage this person had done if a player had asked me? No. That's the risk of corping unfortunately. Now, I would probably try to converse with the offending person and see why they did it. If they did it out of meanness, I would probably recommend they (1) not do it again and (2) if that's their modus operandi, to play somewhere else.

Solution? Dont corp up with those you dont know...what else can you say?

Letting everyone in the game know what happened is usually enough to solve the problem, heh. On the rare occasions that its happened to me, the whole game has united to ream the offending player. And of course bringing in ringers specifically for revenge is highly encouraged as well. When everyone in the game (plus all the new ringers) turn on the backstabber to wipe them out, they quickly learn that its not an accepted practice and I've never seen one repeat offender yet.

As a sysop and a semi retired player, I can see where you are coming from and I can see where the sysops are coming from, years ago I and my corpies had the same thing to happen to us by a player named Magic, but the trick was on that player, cause me and my other corpies always have a big set of backup sectors setup under our player names just in case of things like that, to make a long story short, be prepared, and we did take back what was our corps again, cause we also had a back door in to the corp sects, and used it to sneek in and take it all back, the only reason me and my corpies play like that is simple, when you get a new corpie you aren't sure of, take precautions.

Cause there are some players out there that play the way you described and think it is okay.

As a sysop I really can't get involved in the politics of the players, but don't condone the way the player in your game did you either. And I would have to at least check it out and see if the player was being mean or under what they think is tactics, then respond accordingly, and I do take in what the players in a corp and individual players complain about seriously, and do my best to investigate the problem and take care of it, and make fair on a bad situation when it is possible.

Yes all! I am back out of the hospital to stay and watch my server and Emails from players again, I have a clean bill of health on my blood disorder for now and get to be home and get to go back to work to pay the bills for the server, so cheaters be ware!!!!

I can relate to Lewdpotato, it just happed to me a day or so ago.
But I do want to bring up one point, I think its more common
than Players/Sysops want to admit, here we have 2 cases in as many
days. and in the last year I have seen it like 5 or 6 times, and
thats only on the places I play, and the players im used to playing
agianst. and I also belive most of them are not brought up here on
EIS for all eyes to see. after reading all the posts on this subject
I was left with the idea its as rare as hen teeth. maybe im wrong
but that is what I belive.

what is wrong with a solo player using this method to win.. if they know they cant compete with a corp they can use their cunning abilities to infiltrate the corp and steal <smirk> jk

probs a player brings up, weather it needs you to edit or not.
as a player i go to servers where I can get ahold of the sysop, for whatever reason. mostly just to BS. and I shy away from ones that dont. if a sysop dont care about me, why should a give a dam about them. I have a hand full of servers I play at. for the simple reason

Well to start off I do check my games everyday, read the daily news. I work 3rd shift and I can't be at the helm 24/7. I do come into the games and say hi at least once a day and ask how is it going, Just probably never when you were on. Ask around how I ALWAYS greet my players.
I saw what he did, but what am I supposed to do? Should I ban him for being a low-life-scumsucking pig no good son of a beach, post his IP for all sysops to ban? I hate it when players that do that to other players. Someone else did it in game E. A player named Martin did it to Hal_9000. Most of the time you will find it is newbies that do that sort of underhanded stuff. Experenced players know better than give themselves a bad name.
I am open for suggestions to handle this kind of behaver. I do feel it is disrspectful to everyone even the sysop. So What should I do to keep YOU as player coming back. Should I post a rule saying no back-stabbing? I am at a loss here.

I had someone to it to me recently, but it was a misunderstanding. I rebuilt back up and harrassed the player by attacking and destroying his stuff til he gave up some of his/my planets back to me. . Tho I will say It was a total misunderstanding and I don't hold anything against this player. I would even corp with this player again and try to wipe out the other corp that is loaded with 90% of the planets and fighters in the game.(ask me)

I have seen somewhere on here about it happening to someone else and they suggested posting the ip and name of the person. I still think posting IP isn't right, but I have no prob posting name and user log-in name.
