As I read a lot of the BS in this forum, I wonder, just where do these self proclaimed " up and coming elites " play at? You never see or hear from them in a game. I only see their trash talk in this forum. They must have some "underground server" where they all play against each other. I have played on a lot of servers and in a few majors in the past couple of years. Funny thing is... I haven't seen them in a game.
I see a bunch of perma corp names in their taglines, yet haven't seen the corps in any game where there was decent competition. Making a post in the forums doesn't prove crap about your game play. Find some games with some known competition, if you lose, shrug... I bet you learned something. I'm just sick of these people posting crap about how good or how knowledgable they are. Yet we never see them in any games.
Yeah, I know, I'm far from being an elite. I at least try to run with the big dogs, instead of staying on the porch with the puppies typing useless crap on the forums.

So from your post it sounds like:
1) The only ones who should talk trash are the "true elites" of the game.
2) The only ones who should use a corp name in their tag line are those who play on servers that you consider "competitive".
3) You are complaining, ok - observing, that a lot of useless posts are made in the smack talk area.
1) Gonna be mighty quiet out there.
2) Somewhat of an "elitist" attitude that doesn't merit much of a reply other than what does it hurt?
3) Smack talk = useless. The point of talking trash is to have fun with someone who can give and take it. If you are looking for something that you can actually use, that is what the other forums on here are for.
I have to agree that talking trash does not prove a thing about a person's game play, but it sure makes the game more interesting. Would you prefer to #SD# someone who doesn't say anything, or someone who has been talking trash - either in the game or here?
If you are "sick" of people posting about their perceived skills, I would suggest some Mylanta before reading the smack talk forum because that is what a lot of the posts are about.
And now you can add this post to the other useless posts, such as the one I am replying to, that you see in this forum.

Playing in only turn based games, does not make you good, in fact most these Noobs(as you called them) I would bet could smash you all over the place in a unlimited turn game, including myself So play your game and shut up, you just wanted to cry in the forum like the rest of us. Well Assoo...
I never called anyone a "noob". I pointed out that you never see any of these people, including you, in any major game. You never see them in any highly pubilicity games. I don't care for unlims. That upsets you somehow. Did I put anyone down for liking that type game? I just mentioned the fact that I would't get a chance to play against these people if they stuck to unlims. You got issues dude. You want to play a turn based game? Lemme know.
Lots of love for ya... heh

If you can read, then you saw where I admitted that i'm not nearly one of the best players. Usually people who talk trash have some merit for doing so. Hell, everyone talks trash in the games. Funny thing is I haven't seen you or most of these people in any major game. More less on some of the well known servers. So you can "kick Butt" on the servers where few play, or you can step into the deeper end of the pool where the bigger boys play. You may or may not kick my Butt in the game. I doubt it. But why play against a bunch of inexperienced players who you can beat easily? Even a hard fought battle in which you lose, is more satisfying than running roughshod over some people who have no clue. Smack away dude.... Your words carry no weight unless you back them up.

A)any "good" player i talk to says the majors have gone down the tubes big time lately, granted ive been gone for two years but ive heard it from so many people i believe it.
B)if we dont play at the "well known servers" why dont you list them so they/we can come play at them?
C)i agree that taking a loss from good people can teach you more than beating people who dont know how to play.
D)well, since i obviously dont play where the "big boys play" because ive never seen you, when the next bang comes around, make sure to post it, ill get a few of my "little dog" friends to come and we will play in it and try to give you some competition

I never even stated my skill level in the game nor did I question your ability. I simply stated that if only the elites post trash, then this would be a quiet forum and wondered what it hurts when some poor soul posts their corp name. I also stated that the purpose of smack talk was for the useless type of posts that you were observing and that were making you ill. Hoping we can at least get one useless post in reply to all of this --- the infamous "Yawn" even.
Now you have stated that you are not one of the best players so I would assume that to mean that you are less experienced than the best players. Since you stated "why play against a bunch of inexperienced players who you can beat easily", why would the "elites" of the game want to play on the same server you play on? Why would they want to teach you or help you learn anything about this game? Everyone in this forum has a different level of experience and skill and my guess is that those that have the greatest skill have no qualms about teaching others how to play the game -- sometimes teaching them the hard way. Kemper3 is a good example of a player that helps others -- he kicked my b*tt first, but then told me where I messed up (long time ago on Alien) - and it wasn't just one mistake I made (first one was killing his fig). Kasey is another and the list would go on.
As for losing, np, it happens to everyone and you are correct in that when you stand a good chance of losing, the level of fun goes up. Playing against people that you can destroy at will isn't a lot of fun, but it is a chance to help someone learn the game. Maybe someday we will be in the same game, maybe you can teach me something or maybe I will you -- either way I will talk trash to you and hope you do the same. So until then, take the Mylanta, and enjoy the useless posts that I and other non-elites choose to post.

LOL, seems like everyone is an elite in this thread! But only in the games that they actually win, not the ones that they lose.

That is a good idea. Why don't we have a list of the top servers to play at? Might help people find better competition.

You want competition then check out either blacksun.gotdns.org (Props Vad) or twgs.alienbase.net. Either of these two servers should offer enough competiton for anyone posting here.
BlackSun always has some really interesting games and excellent turnouts and if you like unlimits then alienbase is the place to be.

I'm curious why people think running colos or worldssm scripts 24/7 in an unlimited turn truce game makes them bad asses?

I think it has to do with the childish instant gratification, no consequences for your actions, baby everyone or you might hurt their feelings, dont infringe upon my bots and world whatever scripts just because I am too Darn lazy to actually play for myself, and be a panzie Butt because someone in California told you to attitudes these days. Nobody wants to accept that this is a game of WAR. This is a game of KILLING. This is a game of CONQUER or BE CONQUERED. Its a game of UNIVERSAL DOMINATION. This isnt hold my hand and dont shoot at me until I grow up and no fair attacking while I am sitting on the couch watching tv stuffing my fat Butt with twinkies while I run scripts for everything wars, its Trade Wars.
Just thought I would add to the nobodys who play nowhere so we all must be newbies babbling on about nothing.
