It appears people have once again forgotten that this is open discussions and not smack talk. While there is a lot more leeway allowed in this forum, the excessive vulgarity and personal attacks are not allowed. I've editted a couple of posts accordingly. I would urge everyone to take this as the warning it is, because if I have to suspend you, who knows when I'll peak back in and remember to lift it

I tremble at your internet-guy toughness!! As for 'taking it' - being able to 'take it', and being willing to put up with just flat out lying and personal/racial insults are two different things. I get along fine with people saying 'you suck/sucked' or w/e - that's part of the game, and lord knows I've said it to many many different people over the course of time (although mine were usually accurate accusations, the few exceptions being when i'd say it to timbo just to get under his skin). I'm good for talking trash a lot, but there's a line that you cross where it becomes unpleasant - lying and r/l insults are over that line. Understand?

Traitor - you and I have never really gotten along, for whatever reason. We had philosphical differences (like when you protested how we won USO4), or your general dislike of how we were rather unmerciful to 'newbie' corps, but frankly, you had/have a niche (helping new players), and you should stick with it. Bud. I think you were one of those players that played 'way back when' (like with Hosem or something?), took a lot of time off, and then came back sometime around 2003? It's kind of fuzzy. When you came back it was kind of like 'hey this is cool an old-school guy came back', and you were pretty social. You played in a few games, got spanked, but seemed to enjoy it. You talked about how good you were, but it was by and large ignored because your gameplay belied your claims. One particular thing stands out to me. On several occasions I'd start a thread on twgs.org (RIP) about 'who the best players were', and i'd post a list of 10-12 players that I thought were the best players. The vast majority of the community agreed with my list. There were only three objections to my list. One was by res, pissed that I didn't add him (big surprise there), one was by timberwolf outraged that i didn't include SG (he was of course, laughed at for being stupid again), and then the DU faction clamoring that I didn't add Alexio. Funny thing, I never heard 'OMG YOU FORGOT BUD', or 'WAIT A SECOND, BUD IS THE SHIZ, HOW CAN YOU FORGET HIM?'. Why is that? Blackhawk, the name is slightly familiar, but i don't know who Grim was. And I'm fairly certain that you have me mistake with another player, as we really never played head-to-head. I remember losing a total of two games when doc who and i were corped - one was some mummy edits SupG put up, and another was BOTE03 (or was it 04, i can't remem). And as far as the TWX comment, why would that hit a soft spot? Are you insinuating that I was dependant on scripts? I think it's pretty well accepted that the majority of players use/used TWX, so I was no different in that respect. I didn't use any amazing scripts that weren't available to the public (except the data mining scripts I wrote on my own, and of course, those helped me win numerous games, but I'd not call that *bad*). If you've got something to say - say it!!!

dida, stick to raiding wow nerds six nights a week. I think its pretty clear from this forum that noone cares for you. My reasons are different than most of course.. and you know why.

wow is fun. i spent a lot more time playing tw than i do wow though.

and as for your comment about 'nobody cares for you' - of course not! the players that were my friends (ie the good ones) all quit playing. all that's left is players like you. . .

My main complaint was that you guys were like the Terell Owens of TW. Good players, but not good sports. Never said you guys sucked. Heh. Been spanked enough times to know. I just wish most of you guys had shown more class. I don't think you would have won any less.

I think I was so pissed off about USO4 not because you guys trashed the place, but upon reflection, I think it was 'cause I saw it coming long before bang, and there was NOTHING I could do about it. That drove me nutz. heh. I think I even warned a few other corps about what you guys were probably up too in the days before bang. I couldn't even get my corp to consider it. (Seriously, I was pushing for it the week before bang, but was voted down. Not that the corp I was in could have pulled it off in like 30 min or whatever. I figured it would take about an hour, 90 min on the outside. But you guys had what? 3-4 hard-core scripters with time to burn?) I laugh about it now.

In my time, I was very good. I have beaten many TW legends in their prime, fought others to a standstill, and gotten whipped by quite a few too. I've always considered myself right at the cusp of being an elite. If I had had more time, I probably would have been.

And yes, I'm sticking to helping out new players and TWXProxy development for now. It's far more rewarding.

Speaking of development...how about sending me what you got on Drop? I'd love to look under the hood.

Your prime playing days were over before I ever started playing seriously. I emailed you when I first became interested in playing asking if I could play with your corp (cabal) but you were long since out of business. That being said, it was common knowledge that your playtime during what could be considered my 'prime' was of a casual nature. I'll not dispute your accomplishments and I'll give you the nod you deserve for your history and contributions. I wish your r/l **** that was going on during my time wasn't there and you could have put more into competing, as there really wasn't any competition outside of DU, or the random corps put together by kemper and prestone. But we'll never know.

I'm a bit astonished that you knew (or at least guessed) of our plans for US04, but you are right. Doc, Tweety, Xide, CK, Oz, and myself were all scripters, and yes, the maneuver we pulled off would have been impossible within the timeframe we did it in without extensive scripts. I don't particularly consider USO4 to be some big accomplishment outside of the fact that it did take quite a bit of preparation and practice before the game, and it did take some adjustment in the game after we lost ck. Were we jerks? Some of the time. But it's a game, and smacktalk was the norm. I don't consider us outside the envelope of acceptability, but i'll not debate the opinions of the masses. we were hated by 60%, disliked by 20%, and liked by 20%.

DRoP died when we stopped playing. Rev still has the parser code (maybe, I don't know), and I was keeping the proxy, menu, and sockets code on my Dell laptop that my work gave me. Seeing as how it says DELL on it, I'm sure you can guess what happened to the data, and I never got it back. Rev probably has some of the earlier versions, but the stuff I lost was a major revamp to the threading model used to handle lots of task switching (which was going to be required for the syncing between clients and servers). It's just dead.

Lol ive been playing since i was 12, the point is Dida, as popular as you guys were and as revered as you guys were, I mean Darn, the Elites of old were true killers, but nowadays tings have changed, Trade Wars has changed, (Thanks to Xide, but oh wait hes gone, and your group is gone)

The players today have somewhat forgotten you. I mean i had to really try to remember you Sure everyone knows reV, Xide, and CK, they all provided skills, scripts and knowledge, and you provided your big mouth. So why should we even care? Here you come from no where and stir htings up again, especailly after everyone has already tipped their hats to your group as a whole and you come here running your mouth as if we havent tipped our hats enough.

Come on man, Stockton may have been a total noob in your time, but in my time guys like him, the noobs of old with your elites of old are now top dogs. So get over yourself, you have already earned your respect, so shut up before you lose it.
