I am here to give everyone forewarning about this board. The game there is slow paced. which is fine. But, we killed a player who was killing tolls after we gave him about 5-10 warnings to stop killing these figs under a certain chain of ports. After no reply we torped and killed him. I logged off shortly after it and came back online a few hours later where a player named Gualala started in on me about killing newbies. I appolagized for it and then was threatned with the changing of my password and all my corp assets changed to rougue. Now normally I would ignore this but when flying around I noticed about 10 secotrs of rougue stuff. So apparently I duduced that this has happened before. He then started in on persnola attack after personal attack on me. I don't mind so much about all that stuff or about this board. But, to be threatened even after appolagizing was not worth it at all.. So anyone looking for a good game make sure you stear well clear of this site.

216.104.67.240 port 23..game was game b. I appolagized because was told no killing newbies was the rule. But once all was said and done I did some research on the rules..Scoured their website which is http://www.oregonsouth.com/ice9/index.html and found no rule for killing newbies. I also looked at game descriptions where it says the rules are but there is none there. So in hind sight there is no rule what so ever. But, I was cussed out told to go elsewhere. When I said I would take it up with the forum was told whatever. So thought everyone should know about it and not play there. Maybee then they learn to actualy post rules and not make them up as they go. My guess is the fact that we took almost 13 planets in less then a week they got scared.

Out of curiousity I checked this server out, Gualala is the red with the most points on this game (by about half). I'd steer clear of this one unless you feel like fighting a T-edit player.

but generally you can just look at the uber-poor edits and realize that the board isn't gonna be a top 10, heh.

if there is over 100 living players all with tons of xp, odds are no one has a clue on how to play tradewars, and if you do, and you join, most likely someone will whine and complain. its best to just avoid games like that IMO.

well even if there was a rule against killing nooblets.. what if you are a nooblet so its nooblet on nooblet action.. would the rule still apply?

I'm curious, why would someone make a rule like "No killing newbies"? Are you supposed to use your super psychic powers to tell if someone is a newbie or not?

What this means, is that if you see somebody doing something silly, like sitting in fed with 1k+ points or if they day after you invade a base, the whole corp that owned the base, decides to park there cloaked. It would be totally wrong to take advantage of their newbness. lol. But I could be wrong, and people playing there might have to rely on either a) their abilities as a psychic, or b) equip their ship with a "Newbie Radar" (available at SD for 20k creds), before killing anyone.

This would be for people who complain[;)]...I'm a Newbie....But you know what THIS IS A FREAKING GAME![:D] AND IT's called tradewars...."WARS" what does this mean[?].... i can't kill an ignorant person who doesn't know what they are doing.... Well if i kill him it teachs him what he is doing is wrong.... Hell when i first started i was pod then mines put all around me so i couldn't move... hell i didn't know what this meant...but i learned[;)].... Going soft on newbies.... Hell what kind of sysop is this[?].... a nice one... or one that's playing on his server and is mad cause a friend he's trying to get to play got #SD#... Hell I have never been to that server but after hearing this i won't check it out..... Thanks for the warning casper.....

I wouldnt see a problem with this kind of server if it wasn't for the rude attitude of the playing sysop. There's nothing inherently wrong with a less aggressive style of play, and in fact its a welcome change every now and again. I don't even mind sysops playing on their own boards - cause ****, they paid a hot penny for it . Howeva I'll be avoiding this board on account of an abusive op (maybe because you killed his dupe ? ), which noone needs.

There's another thread here about this server. This server is totally for players from the old bbs days. Gualala doesn't have tedit access. If you aren't the type that likes LONG games with lots of planets and no killing, don't go there. Its not the standard EIS crowd server.

lol... I killed some newbies on that server.. guy with like a full boat ISS and 50k figs pulled into dock, and I had popped a couple of planets to check out edits... It just so happened he landed on it and I macro zdy'd it... lmao...
