 MISSISSIPI… MCIC, I see, I don't see…
Anyone know what the formulae for port MCIC's are, or where I can find them?
Idea for a script I've been wanting to write for a long time. Thanks

Thanks for the reference. I took some time to analyze and compare the MomBot Merch script with the formulas in ck'c 'Advanced Haggling Lessons'.
I think I have what I need. Thanks again.

Cherokee's MCIC tables are not quite right, and there is a more accurate formula you can use. I never got around to working out the formulas for ore and org, but here is the formula for equ:
90.5 - 0.8104m - 0.0009m(m - 1)
Where m is the MCIC. So for example, the initial offer for a -65 port at 100% is 139.315 credits/hold. This formula is correct to the credit for all possible MCICs. I don't know what happens when the port is below 100%.

Yes, he did say it was not accurate, and suggested deducting 10 creds from the ask to deal with that. Very interested in knowing about the derivation of your formula, and I'm sure he would be also.

 Re: MISSISSIPI… MCIC, I see, I don't see…
I set up a ship with 100 holds and traded at the same port repeatedly, using tedit to set the port back to 100% and refill my holds each time. I noticed that the initial offers were always the same for any given MCIC, so I plotted a bunch of MCICs and worked out the pattern.

Just to say tht I'm not interest in haggling, per se, just obtaining the MCIC of any port I visit.
